Orphan date January 2011 The Kauffmann olefination is a chemical reaction to convert aldehydes and ketones to methylene olefins. This reaction was discovered by the German chemist Thomas Kauffmann and is related to the better known Tebbe olefination or Wittig reaction . Formation of the reagent The reagent was in situ generated by conversion of different Molybdenum or Tungsten halogenides with methyllithium at low temperatures 78 C . ref T. Kauffmann, M. Huber accepted the task and finished the fourth volume of the Fontes rerum Germanicarum , containing the most important records of the fourteenth century. He then worked on the Regesta of Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV , which appeared between 1874 and 1877 with an introduction on the imperial dipl ...   more details
