Wikify date April 2010 Orphan date February 2009 Consultation media Refers to the relationship between a media service provider and media services consumer. An information services centre must be established, this comprises a media organization which has a large almost unlimited amount of information at its disposal. However in the consultation relationship the information services centre forfeits an amount of control to the consumer. The consumer is able to determine which information they want to receive and when they want to receive it. This differs from the allocution model in which the information services centre retains complete control over the information. The consultation model allows the consumer to interact with the information on a higher level as they can impose a filter on the information, deciding to reject or ignore any amount. The most common example of the consultation model is the newspaper. The reader decides when they will read the paper, how quickly they will read it and which articles they will read. It is rare for a person to read every article in a newspaper, most people impose some kind of filter. Encyclopedias, magazines and news websites are other examples of media which utilize the consultation model. Bah consultation refers to the method of discussion and decision making which is described in the Bah Faith Bah writings, and which is used in all levels of Bah administration . Shoghi Effendi states The prime requisites for them that take counsel together are purity of motive, radiance of spirit, detachment from all else save God, attraction to His Divine Fragrances, humility and lowliness amongst His loved ones, patience and long suffering in difficulties and servitude... The members thereof must take counsel together in such wise that no occasion for ill feeling or discord may arise. This can be attained when every member expresseth with absolute freedom his own opinion and setteth forth his argument. Should any one oppose, he must on no account feel hurt for not until matters are fully discussed can the right way be revealed. The shining spark of truth cometh forth only after the clash of differing opinions. If after discussion, a decision be carried unanimously, well and good but if the Lord forbid, differences of opinion should arise, a majority of voices must prevail. The English Language Liturgical Consultation ELLC is a group of national associations of ecumenical liturgy liturgists in the English language English speaking world. Their work has been concerned with developing and promoting common liturgical texts in English and sharing a common lectionary wherever possible. It is the successor body to the International Consultation on English Texts ICET . ICET was formed in 1969 and, after circulating drafts in 1971, 1972, and 1973. completed its work in 1975 by publishing, in the booklet Prayers We Have in Common , its proposed English versions of liturgical texts that included the Apostles Creed , the Nicene Creed , the Athanasian Creed , and the Lord s Prayer . These texts were widely adopted by English speaking Christians, with the exception of the Our Father, for which, in most countries, a traditional text was kept. The Consultation on Church Union COCU was an effort towards church unity in the United States , that began in 1962 and in 2002 became the Churches Uniting in Christ . It was a significant part of the Christian movements Christian movement towards Ecumenism . History The original task of COCU was to negotiate a merger between its four and later ten member denominations however, the merger never happened under that banner. This effort can be seen in the context of the worldwide ecumenical attitude that was manifested in the 1948 formation of the World Council of Churches , the 1950 formation of the National Council of Churches , the 1957 formation of the United Church of Christ , and the formation of the Roman Catholic Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity during the Second Vatican Council which occurred from 1962 to 1965 . The United Church of Christ is a visual example of COCU s initiatives. It was a merger of the Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Congregational Christian Churches . According to a May 13, 1962 Time magazine article, http www.time.com time magazine article 0,9171,835526 1,00.html the COCU was proposed as a giant Protestant superchurch by Presbyterian Rev. Eugene Carson Blake in 1962. Time reports that a meeting in Dallas in May 1966 produced a timetable for merger that called for creation and ratification of a union plan within 13 years, followed by some 30 years of federation during which a constitution will be prepared. Among delegates from the eight churches then involved were Methodist theologian Albert Outler , Episcopal bishop Robert Gibson of Virginia, and United Church of Christ minister David Colwell .
