Disco orchestration is the arranging, orchestration, and music al production and recording techniques that went into the production of mid to late 1970s disco music. Role of disco orchestration The sound of a disco song, as with the sound of a song of any genre of music, depended on the particular tastes of the artists, and if relevant to the genre the arrangers, producers, and even the orchestra conductors, and even still the concertmaster s dictating the type of stylized playing method of each section of the orchestra , down to the engineer s and audio engineering mixer s who assembled all the elements to make a fluid, cohesive sculpture of sound through melodic continuity. The disco orchestration stylings of different producers can be discerned by most listeners. Van McCoy s The Hustle 1975 , for example, uses very different orchestration techniques from those of Silver Convention s Get Up and Boogie 1976 . Van McCoy composed, arranged, and produced his song, and also conducted the New York Philharmonic Orchestra . The sound of Van McCoy s song was further influenced by the musical influences of concertmaster Gene Orloff . Silver Convention s song was written, arranged, and produced by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay, who conducted the Munich Symphony Orchestra . The orchestra sound was influenced by concertmaster Fritz Sonnleitner . Here, one can only imagine the New York sound, as produced by Van McCoy, on Silver Convention s Get Up and Boogie , and the funky Munich sound, as produced by Kunze and Levay, on Van McCoy s The Hustle . Mikhail Tushmalov Tushmalishvili, Georgian people Georgian 1861 1896 was a Russia n Georgian people Georgian opera conductor who held posts in Warsaw and Tiflis Tbilisi . He died in what is now the nation of Georgia country Georgia . File Mussorgsky, Pictures at an Exhibition Touschmaloff orchestration , page 1.jpg thumb 160px right The opening bars of Tushmalov s orchestration of Pictures at an Exhibition . Tushmalov is most widely discussed today as the first person to have prepared an orchestral version of Modest Mussorgsky s 1874 piano suite music suite Pictures at an Exhibition . Tushmalov s version sets an abridged version of the piece. It may have been completed as early as 1886, when Tushmalov was a student of Rimsky Korsakov. Reports circulate that Rimsky Korsakov sketched the beginning of his own orchestration of Mussorgsky s piece, but abandoned the project when Tushmalov took up the task. The role possibly played by the teacher in shaping the orchestration by his student is not known. The first performance of Tushmalov s orchestration was conducted by Rimsky Korsakov in Saint Petersburg on November 30, 1891. The score was published by Bessel the same year and issued in a corrected edition sometime after Tushmalov s death. Tushmalov s orchestration has in recent years been reprinted by Kalmus. Tushmalov s version of Mussorgsky s score is one of the least complete, as it omits Gnomus , Tuileries and Bydlo together with all the Promenades except the fifth which it puts in place of the first. Tushmalov s score is often described as dark and restrained in colour, and thus more authentically Russian in its approach to the score than the later, more virtuosic orchestration by Ravel. Attributions for Tushmalov s setting often read Tushmalov Rimsky Korsakov , even though it is not established that his teacher contributed. Tushmalov s version appears on audio in a performance by Mark Andreae and the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. The attribution reads ... more details

no footnotes date January 2012 An Agile Application is the result of Service oriented architecture Service Oriented Architecture and Agile software development Agile Development paradigms. An Agile Application is distinguished from average applications in that it is a Loose coupling loosely coupled set of services with a decoupled Orchestration computers orchestration layer and it is easily modified to address changing business needs and it is scalable by design. Using Agile software development Agile Applications development paradigms , a set of services can be built to address business specific functional components. These services can be exposed using any one of the standard communication protocols including web services. A well designed Agile Application will standardize on a common communication protocol and a common data model. The services can then be orchestrated using a decoupled layer to implement business logic. There are many tools by different vendors in the industry that can support the orchestration layer Citation needed date June 2011 . The decoupled nature of an Agile Application permits it to accommodate fault tolerance and scalability . For example, scalability is addressed through focusing the attention of the Quality assurance QA team in the set of services that are causing the bottleneck as opposed to trying to solve scalability for the entire system which can be a much bigger problem. Similarly, fault tolerance can be achieved through deploying multiple instances of a service. If one service fails, another instance can pick up the load. For stateless services, this can lead to continuous availability. Following the Agile Development paradigm, each unit of development cycle can be focused on a single service. Furthermore, multiple of these development cycles can run in parallel leading to faster development completion. Agile is a means of responsiveness based on customization rather than stable production or standardization. References http www ... more details

Grand trait d instrumentation et d orchestration modernes , abbreviated in English language English as the Treatise on Instrumentation sometimes Treatise on Orchestration is a technical study of Western culture Western musical instrument s, written by Hector Berlioz . It was first published in 1844 after being serialised in many parts prior to this date, and had a chapter added by Berlioz on conducting in 1855. An attempt at revising the text was later made by Richard Strauss in 1904 to include some modern instruments. The book discusses the various technical aspects of instruments, such as chromatic range, tone quality, and limitations. An explanation of the role of particular instruments within the orchestra is also provided. The book also provides orchestral excerpts from classical music classical scores to give examples of techniques discussed. These examples are sometimes of works by Berlioz himself, while Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Mozart , Richard Wagner Wagner , Ludwig van Beethoven Beethoven , and Christoph Willibald Gluck Gluck are also frequently cited. ref name its Many composers studied the work closely, such as Modest Mussorgsky Mussorgsky , Gustav Mahler Mahler , Richard Strauss R. Sergei Prokofiev did not manage to compose more than a few bars of his Piano Concerto No. 6 Op. 134, sometimes Op. 133 before his death in 1953 so it is impossible to reconstruct the underlying musical ideas and complete it. The work is unusual in that it is scored for two pianos and a string orchestra. The other five of Prokofiev s piano concertos rely on a single, very gifted pianist and feature a more or less standard orchestration.
