  1. Clock patience

Unreferenced date December 2009 Infobox Patience Game Name Clock AltNames Travellers NamedVariants Watch DeckNumber Single DeckType 52 card Family Non Builder Image Clock Solitaire.JPG thumb Initial layout of Clock Solitaire Numbers letters represent the piles. Clock patience , also known as clock solitaire is a solitaire card game with the cards laid out to represent the face of a clock . Rules One deck of cards minus joker playing card jokers is used. The deck is shuffled and twelve piles of four cards each are laid out, face down, in a circle. The remaining four cards are placed, also face down, in a pile in the center of the circle. The clock position twelve positions around the circle represent the 12 hour clock and the pile in the middle represents the hands. Play starts by turning over the top card of the central pile. When a card is revealed, it is placed face up under the pile at the corresponding hour i.e. Ace 1 o clock, 2 2 o clock, etc. The Jack is 11 o clock and the Queen is 12 o clock and the top card of the pile of that hour is turned over. If a King is revealed, it is placed face up under the central pile. Play continues in this fashion and the game is won if all the cards are revealed. The game is lost if all four Kings are revealed and face down cards are still present. This is a game of zero skill and is a purely mechanical process. The chances of winning are 1 in 13. There is no possible way to win the game if none of the bottommost cards in the twelve circle piles at the start of play is a king. Variations There is also a variation of Clock Patience, commonly known as Watch . It is played like Clock Patience except when the fourth king appears, the player can continue the play by replacing the king with a still faced down card. Game ends when that fourth King reappears. Unreferenced date November 2008 Persian Patience or simply Persian is a solitaire card game which is played with two decks of playing card s. The unusual feature of this game is the fact that the two decks are decks used in piquet and bezique , i.e. those that have the deuces twos , treys threes , fours, fives, and sixes removed. The tableau is set up into eight columns of eight cards. The object of the game is to free all eight aces and build each of them up by suit. In this case, when an Ace is placed on a foundation, the next card to be placed on it is a seven. Building on the tableau is down by alternating color. Only one card can be moved at a time. When a space occurs, it is filled with any available card. When the player has done all of the moves he could possibly make, the player can gather the cards on the tableau, shuffle them, and redeal them into eight piles. This can be done only twice during the game three deals in all . However when no moves are made after a deal whether the original deal or one of the redeals , the deal does not count. The game ends long after the cards are dealt the third time. The game is won when all cards are built onto the foundations. Category Solitaire card games ...   more details
