They still reside in this garden tending the little girl s flowers. Rose Petal made her home out of a watering pail that was left there and turned it into palace. And so begins the tale.... Rose Petal dolls were markedly similar to the fruit and dessert themed Strawberry Shortcake and color themed Rainbow Brite dolls. As in those lines, the characters pastoral lives are interrupted only by the nefarious plots of a bumbling adult villain or two. 1. Spur (botany)

Image Utricularia sandersonii flower1.jpg thumb right 250px Flowers of Utricularia sandersonii , displaying large floral spurs. A spur in botany is a spike, usually part of a flower. In certain plants, part of a sepal or petal develops into an elongated hollow spike extending behind the flower , containing nectar which is sucked by long tongued animals insects, birds or bats . Plants with such structures include Delphinium , Aquilegia , Piperia , and some orchid s, such as Gymnadenia . Spurs may be useful in species identification &ndash for example Yadon s piperia cannot be easily distinguished from other Piperia save for the unusually short length of its spur. ref Morgan & Ackerman, Lindleyana 5 205 211 1990 ref In tropical pitcher plant s of the genus Nepenthes , the spur is a small appendage at the base of the pitcher lid. ref Clarke, C.M. 1997. 1. In a Summer Garden

In a Summer Garden is a fantasia music fantasy for orchestra composed in 1908 by Frederick Delius it was first performed in London under the composer s Baton conducting baton on December 11 of that year. The piece is built around several distinct themes. The first appears in the woodwinds and strings the second is presented by the English horn , while the third is scored for viola s against figures and chords in the woodwinds and lower strings. This is worked out vigorously before the piece is concluded by a new theme, first from the violins and repeated by the woodwinds. The published score of the fantasy contains two quotations which provide some clue as to its emotional content. The first is a couplet by Dante Gabriel Rossetti All are my blooms and all sweet blooms of love. To thee I gave while Spring and Summer sang. The origin of the second quote is unknown. It reads blockquote Roses, lilies, and a thousand scented flowers. Bright butterflies, flitting from petal to petal. Beneath the shade of ancient trees, a quiet river with water lilies. In a boat, almost hidden, two people. A thrush is singing in the distance. blockquote Peter Warlock Philip Heseltine has made a piano solo transcription in 1921, published only in 1982.
