The International PortugueseLanguage Institute Instituto Internacional da L ngua Portuguesa in Portuguese or IILP is the CPLP s institute supporting the spread and popularity of the Portugueselanguage in the world. The Institute s headquarters is located in Praia , Cape Verde . Its president is the Brazilian linguist Gilvan Muller de Oliveira . The institute is recent and its statutes are still not well regulated. However, its history starts in 1989 when the countries of Portugueselanguage gathered in S o Lu s do Maranh o in Brazil to create a base for a Portugueselanguage community.
