  1. Single supplement

In the travel industry , package deal and accommodation prices may be quoted per person but are generally structured on the basis that two people will travel and room together. The fee surcharge that this entails for a solo traveller is known as the single person supplement sometimes single supplement . ref name Lyon2003 This surcharge is widely unpopular amongst solo travellers. ref name Cram2006 James Lyon describes the single person supplement as solo travellers hav& 91 ing& 93 to pay & 91 &hellip & 93 for the privilege of having a room all to themselves . ref name Lyon2003 Tony Cram observes that part of its unpopularity lies in what Thomas Nagle and Reed Holden listed in Further reading further reading describe as a framing effect . ref name Cram2006 Given the following two holiday package prices, for the same airline travel, destination, hotel £ 300, with a £ 25 discount for early booking £ 250, with a 10 single person surcharge customers will choose the former over the latter, even though the total cost, £ 275, is in fact the same. The reason for this choice is Nagle and Holden s framing effect . Purchases are framed by customers when they evaluate them as bundles of gains and losses and customers choose gains over losses. An early booking discount is a gain, whereas a surcharge is a loss. Cram propounds the principle that prices are always more flexible downwards rather than upwards. Pricing structures that appear to penalize the small scale or one off buyer, such as a solo traveller, are unpopular. ref name Cram2006 The single person supplement can form a significant extra cost to a holiday. ref name Grant2009 Travel expert Pauline Frommer observes that the single person supplements for rooms, tours, and cruises can form up to 40 of the total cost of a vacation, and cannot be evaded or negotiated down. ref name Link2010 References references ref name Lyon2003 cite book title Maldives series Lonely Planet Travel Guides author James Lyon e ...   more details

  1. Protein turnover

Unreferenced date October 2006 Protein turnover is the balance between protein synthesis and Proteolysis protein degradation . More synthesis than breakdown indicates an anabolic state that builds lean tissues, more breakdown than synthesis indicates a catabolic state that burns lean tissues. Protein turnover is believed to decrease with age in all senescence organisms including humans. This results in an increase in the amount of damaged protein within the body. It is unknown if this is a cause or consequence of aging but it seems likely that it is in fact both. The damaged protein results in a slower protein turnover which then results in more damaged protein causing an exponential increase in damage to all protein within the body and to aging. Some bodybuilding supplement s claim to reduce the protein breakdown by reducing or blocking the number of catabolic hormones within the body. This is believed to increase anabolism. However if protein breakdown falls too low then the body would not be able to remove muscle cells that have been damaged during workouts which would in turn prevent the growth of new muscle cells. When older proteins are broken down in the body, they must be replaced. This concept is called protein turnover, and different types of proteins have very different turnover rates. Protein synthesis occurs during the process of Translation biology translation on ribosome s. Protein breakdown occurs generally in two cellular locations br lysosome Lysosomal protease s digest endocytosis endocytosed proteins br cytoplasm Cytoplasmic complexes, called proteasome s, digest older or abnormal proteins that have been tagged with ubiquitin for destruction. 1. Lutheran Hymnal with Supplement

Unreferenced date November 2007 The Lutheran Hymnal with Supplement is the second official hymnal of the Lutheran Church of Australia , first published in its present form in 1989. Precursor Prior to 1966, Australia was home to two completely separate Lutheran synods the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Australia E.L.C.A. , and the United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Australia U.E.L.C.A. , both based in South Australia , which both used liturgical material inherited from their ancestors in Europe, mainly in the German language, together with some material from the Missouri Synod in the United States of America. In order to standardise the music and liturgies found across their Congregations, the E.L.C.A. decided, in circa 1920, to produce a completely home grown hymnal.
