  1. Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees

The Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees also known as the New York Protocol entered into force on October 4, 1967. Where the United Nations 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees had restricted refugee status to those whose circumstances had come about as a result of events occurring before 1 January 1951 , as well as giving States party to the Convention the option of interpreting this as events occurring in Europe or events occurring in Europe or elsewhere , the 1967 Protocol removed both the temporal and geographic restrictions. However, it also gave those States which had previously ratified the 1951 Convention and chosen to use the geographically restricted definition the option to retain that restriction. 1. Online Certificate Status Protocol

The Online Certificate Status Protocol OCSP is an Internet protocol used for obtaining the revocation status of an X.509 digital certificate . It is described in RFC 2560 and is on the Internet standard s track. It was created as an alternative to certificate revocation list s CRL , specifically addressing certain problems associated with using CRLs in a public key infrastructure PKI . Messages communicated via OCSP are encoded in ASN.1 and are usually communicated over HTTP . The request response nature of these messages leads to OCSP Server computing server s being termed OCSP responders . Comparison to CRLs Since an OCSP response contains less information than a typical CRL certificate revocation list , OCSP can feasibly provide more timely information regarding the revocation status of a certificate without burdening the network. However, the greater number of requests and connection overhead may overwhelm this benefit if the Client computing client does not cache computing cache responses. Using OCSP, clients do not need to Parsing parse CRLs themselves, saving client side complexity ...
