Photograph stability refers the ability of a photographic print or photographic film to remain visibly unchanged over periods of time. Different photographic processes yield varying degrees of stability. Silver halide Black and white negatives and prints made by the silver halide process are stable so long as the photographic substrate is stable. Some papers may yellow with age, or the gelatin matrix may yellow and crack with age. If not developed properly, small amounts of silver halide remaining in the gelatin will darken when exposed to light. In some prints, the black silver oxide is reduced to metallic silver with time, and the image takes on a metallic sheen as the dark areas reflect light instead of absorbing it. Silver can also react with sulfur in the air and form silver sulfide . A correctly processed and stored silver print or negative probably has the greatest stability of any photographic medium, as attested by the wealth of historical black and white photography. Chromogenic Chromogenic dye color processes include Type R and RA 4 process process RA 4 also known as type C prints , C 41 process process C 41 color negatives. and E 6 process process E 6 color reversal Ektachrome film. Pseudo LRU usually refers two cache replacement algorithms tree PLRU and bit PLRU. Tree PLRU, is an efficient algorithm to find an item that most likely has not been accessed very recently, given a set of items and a sequence of access events to the items. This technique is used in the CPU cache of the Intel 486 and in many processors in the Power Architecture formerly PowerPC family, such as Freescale Freescale s PowerPC G4 used by Apple Computer . The algorithm works as follows consider a binary search tree for the items in question. Each node of the tree has a one bit flag denoting go left to find a pseudo LRU element or go right to find a pseudo LRU element . To find a pseudo LRU element, traverse the tree according to the values of the flags. To update the tree with an access to an item N, traverse the tree to find N and, during the traversal, set the node flags to denote the direction that is opposite to the direction taken. Bit PLRU stores one status bit for each cache line. We call these bits MRU bits. Every access to a line sets its MRU bit to 1, indicating that the line was recently used. Whenever the last remaining 0 bit of a sets status bits is set to 1, all other bits are reset to 0. At cache misses, the line with lowest index whose MRU bit is 0 is replaced. Pseudo Scymnus is the name given by Augustus Meineke to the unknown author of a work on geography written in Classical Greek , The Circumnavigation of the Earth , an anonymous verse periegesis first published at Augsburg in 1600. It was originally ascribed to Marcian of Heraclea Marcianus of Heraclea , then to Scymnus of Chios , until this was disproven by Meineke edition, 1846 . Pseudo Ingulf is the name given to an unknown England English author of the Historia Monasterii Croylandensis , also known as the Croyland Chronicle . Nothing certain is known of Pseudo Ingulf although it is generally assumed that he was connected with Croyland Abbey . The Historia Monasterii Croylandensis is attributed to Abbot Ingulph , an 11th century Abbot of Croyland, but is generally accepted to be a 14th century work. Those parts of the work written after Pseudo Ingulf, that is the 15th century, are considered a valuable source. Pseudo Ingulf himself is not while he may have had access to genuine traditions or documents at Croyland, he misunderstood or garbled these beyond any possibility of recognition .
