Daniel Altman is an American born economist and writer. He is Director of Thought Leadership at Dalberg Global Development Advisors . He is also the founder and president of North Yard Economics, a not for profit consulting firm that provides high quality economic analysis to governments and non governmental organizations in developing countries. He writes commentary on economics and occasionally on soccer in English and Spanish. Altman teaches economics as an adjunct at the New York University Stern School of Business and serves as Chief Economist of Big Think . Mr. Altman worked for many years as an economic journalist, most recently as the global economics columnist of the International Herald Tribune .
