  1. Pullman F.C.

Pullman F.C. was one of the dominant U.S. soccer team of the early twentieth century. Established in 1893 as the Pullman Company team, it was an inaugural member of the Chicago League of Association Football before moving to the Association Football League. It dominated the Peel Cup during the 1910s and early 1920s. History In 1893, the Pullman Company entered its newly created company soccer team as an inaugural member of the Chicago League of Association Football CLAF . Over the years, the Pullman Company sponsored numerous soccer teams, including teams for women, but the senior team remained in the CLAF for decades, competing for both the league championship, known as the Spalding Cup, and league cup, known as the Jackson Challenge Cup. However, in 1883, Pullman F.C. gained with honor of playing the first official association football game in Chicago. In 1904, a new Chicago league, the Association Football League, was created as a rival to the CLAF. Pullman soon jumped leagues as the CLAF faded into obscurity to be replaced by the AFA as the city s dominant league. In 1913, the AFA collapsed, but was quickly replaced by the Chicago and District League, better known as the Chicago Soccer League. 1. Liverpool Pullman

The Liverpool Pullman was a British Pullman train UK Pullman train operated by the London Midland Region of British Railways . It ran daily from Stnlink Liverpool Lime Street to Stnlink London Euston and return, calling only at Stnlink Runcorn and Stnlink Watford Junction . It was introduced in 1966 upon the electrification of the West Coast Main Line . The Liverpool Pullman made the end to end London Liverpool journey in a record 2 hours 35 minutes. This was achieved partly by not calling at Stnlink Crewe , contrary to standard practice at the time, and partly by being of relatively low weight, having only eight coaches in total. Unlike many British Pullman services including its sister train of the same era, the Manchester Pullman , it was not all Pullman but also conveyed second class coaches. Its typical formation was four 2nd class coaches and four first class Pullman coaches, hauled by a British Rail Class 86 Class 86 electric locomotive. In 1968 the down northbound Liverpool Pullman was scheduled to cover the 163 miles from Watford Junction to Runcorn in 119 minutes, for an average speed of 82.3  mph, then the fastest ever start to stop regular timing in Britain. ref cite news title Outlook on the London Midland first G.
