  1. Didier Daurat

Didier Daurat 2 January 1891 at Montreuil sous Bois 2 December 1969 at Toulouse was a pioneer of French aviation . Biography Daurat was a fighter pilot during World War I , distinguishing himself by spotting the Paris Gun which was pounding Paris. After the war, he joined Pierre Georges Lat co re Lat co re s airline company, which later became the Compagnie g n rale a ropostale A ropostale aviation A ropostale , then Air France where he was a pilot and later operations director. From this time, the legend of the man with the iron will made Didier Daurat a boss admired by many, feared by all and hated by some. He did not hesitate to dismiss those who showed the slightest sign of weakness, questioned his methods or did not adhere to the spirit of the mail l esprit du courrier . Many of his pilots began their careers as grease monkeys, taking apart, cleaning and reassembling engines. According to Daurat, this formed character and taught pilots to respect their machines. But he knew when he saw a talented pilot. When Jean Mermoz presented himself in Toulouse and made a dazzling display of piloting skill, Daurat told him I don t need circus artists but bus drivers. Je n ai pas besoin d artistes de cirque mais de conducteurs d autobus . Nevertheless, he engaged him to clean the engines. These methods proved their worth because the Lat co re lines, and later A ropostale, achieved a level of punctuality and reliability unknown for the time on the Toulouse Saint Louis, Senegal Saint Louis du S n gal route, and later from Toulouse Santiago, Chile , Chile with a crossing of the south Atlantic and the Andes . When A ropostale was integrated with Air France in 1933, Daurat, friendless, was dismissed. In 1935, he founded the Air Bleu company, which transported mail throughout France, by day as well as by night. Results were remarkable, but the company was militarised with the declaration of war in 1939. Following the Liberation of France, he relaunched the night postal service be ...   more details

It was engraved with the words City of Louisville at the top and Perseverando at the bottom. 1. Edgar Edmund Estcourt

Edgar Edmund Estcourt , M.A. 1816 1884 , was canon of St. Chad s Roman Catholic Cathedral , Birmingham. Life Estcourt, born 7 February 1816, was the eldest son of the Rev. Edmund William Estcourt of Newntown , Wiltshire, one of the Estcourts of Estcourt, Gloucestershire . He was destined for the church entered Exeter College, Oxford , 20 February 1834 proceeded B.A. 1838 and M.A. 1840 and came under the influence of the Tractarian movement. In 1845, when J. H. About three years after he was ordained catholic priest by Dr. Ullathorne, vicar apostolic of the western district, and on the restoration of the hierarchy in 1850 he was appointed conomus of the diocese. Though one of the kindest of men, he had great firmness of character. He was a great lover of books, and for many years he was a most useful member of the committee of the London Library. 1. Structure of the rail industry in the United Kingdom

There are effectively two separate mainline railway systems in the United Kingdom the Great Britain system and the Northern Ireland system, which are regulated operate separately and are constituted under separate pieces of legislation. Great Britain Railways in Great Britain are run under a structure established by the Railways Act 1993 as amended , which provided for the break up of the former vertically integrated state railway, the British Railways Board , and the transfer of its operations into the private sector. The Secretary of State for Transport has overall responsibility for the railways within the Her Majesty s Government Government The railway track and infrastructure is owned and operated by Network Rail which is regulated by the Office of Rail Regulation . In Great Britain, passenger trains are run under either franchises from the Department for Transport or on an open access basis, which means their operators have no contract with government. Freight train operators have no contracts with government, and rely on the competitiveness and attractiveness of their product and services to maintain and increase their market shares. Rolling stock is largely owned by rolling stock leasing companies ROSCO s. In 2006, using powers in the Railways Act 2005 , the Department for Transport took over most of the functions of the now wound up Strategic Rail Authority . The DfT now itself runs competitions for the award of passenger rail franchises, and, once awarded, monitors and enforces the contracts with the private sector franchisees. Franchises specify the passenger rail services which are to be run and the quality and other conditions for example, the cleanliness of trains, station facilities and opening hours, the punctuality and reliability of trains which the operators have to meet. Some franchises receive subsidy from the DfT for doing so, and some are cash positive, which means that the franchisee pays the DfT for the contract. Some franchises start life a ...   more details

Baptised in the newly established Swiss Protestant Church in London on 19 January 1764, Francis Hobler, as he was commonly known, held the respected position of principal clerk to the Right Hon. Lord Mayor of London during the early to mid 19th century. As chief clerk, his duties were to provide informed legal counsel in the areas of criminal law and the statutes and civic customs of the city of London. Hobler held this position for the majority of his life, which included numerous changes to the civic chair. He retired in 1843 due to ill health. Revered for his intellect and wit, Francis Hobler was once described as a fine, tall, upright, powdered headed gentleman of the old school, always neatly, though somewhat eccentrically dressed, in a closely buttoned up black coat, drab breeches and gaiters, which seem to be essential to, and form a part of his very existence . The Illustrated London News , 1843 Fluent in English, French, Spanish, German and Latin, he was known for his punctuality, compassion and excellent memory. His vivid recollection of past events is best evidenced by an incident which occurred at Mansion House, where a young thief was facing a charge of burglary. Unlike Sonu Nigam in the male lead, who is otherwise a well known Bollywood playback singer, the film has a virtually unknown star cast which includes Jharana Bajracharya from Nepal and Fllora Saini in the female lead. This is Sonu Nigam s second film as the male lead, and unlike his first one, has acted very well with excellent comic timing. Others have also acted very well including Rajendranath Zutshi and Rajpal Yadav . The movie is a little offbeat in the sense that the first hour is more of situational comedy while the remaining suddenly turns into a thriller and whodunit set in Pokhara , Nepal . The comedy part is really good whereas the thriller part little tacky with the ending a little unconvincing. Plot Abby Sonu Nigam is creative head of a private Ad Agency in Mumbai , which is on the growth curve when the owner of the ad agency decides to sell it to an American multinational with Maxi Flora Saini as the VP in charge of the merged entity. Abby and George, who is the account executive in the agency, do not want the merger as they feel they don t need another agency for their growth.
