The club was first founded in 1960 as a football & ice hockey club in the suburb of Musa. Later on the ice hockey was left out. Literally, the name of the club means the lightning of Musa. In the 1990s, Musan Salama made a trip to Ykk nen , the second highest level in Finnish football but it turned out to a short spell. On season 2011 MuSa plays in Kakkonen .
