The Baharna are the oldest inhabitants of Qatif , Al Ahsa , and the island of Bahrain Not including the Hawar Islands . Most of them are are not descended from any prophet and originate in various parts of the Arabian peninsula. Adnanite tribes Rabi a, Banu Hashim , and descendants of prophet Ibrahim through his son Ismail come from North Arabia. Many of the Baharna immigrated from their homeland of east Arabia to other parts of the peninsula, or other places like Iran . Today, most of Kuwait s Shia Islam Shia Muslim population is Bahrani.
