One of its major efforts was the setting up of a number of schools for Muslim girls and orphanages in the Punjab region Punjab , where girls were taught Urdu and the Qur an , as well as mathematics, needlework and crafts. It started a publishing house for appropriate textbooks for Muslim girls and boys schools, and these were used all over the Punjab and beyond. Abu Bakr Mu ammad ibn al ayyib al B qill n lang ar was an Ashari Islamic scholar and Maliki lawyer, influential in popularising Sunni Islam Sunni Ashari sm. Born in Basra c. 950, he spent most of his life in Baghdad, and studied under disciples of al Ash ari . He held the office of chief Qadi outside the capital of the Caliphate . He died on 5 June 1013 402AH . He supported the doctrine of the apologetic miracle being proof of prophecy, the noncreation of the Quran, intercession, and the possibility of seeing God.
