He also represented the Sydney Church of England Grammar School first XI in cricket. Administrative career In 1970, Radford joined the New South Wales Cricket Association as Assistant Secretary. He was at the same time Assistant Secretary of the Cricket Australia Australian Cricket Board of Control . In 1976, he became Secretary an executive position of the NSWCA. He served in this role for almost twenty years. In 1993, Radford was appointed chair of the Donald Bradman Bradman Foundation, a role he served in until 1997. He died just months after his 60th birthday. Greg Chappell , who is a Veganism vegan , had a bet with him that if Radford lasted until 60, Chappell would eat a steak . Radford is an inner city area of Nottingham , located just outside the city centre itself. History Radford is bounded on the south by Lenton and Nottingham, and comprises around convert 600 acre km2 of land. St. Peter s Church, Radford was given by William Peveril to Lenton Priory . The church was rebuilt in 1812 at a cost of 2,000. The area has a large ethnic minority population mainly West Indian, African, Asian and increasingly Polish , and there is accordingly, a large number of specialist food and retail shops catering to specific cultures. Due to the relatively cheap nature of housing in the area and the large number of old Victorian architecture Victorian properties converted into Apartment flats and bedsit s , Radford has a large student population, most of whom attend the nearby Nottingham Trent University and University of Nottingham . Industry Radford was the home of Raleigh Bicycle Company Raleigh Industries once the world s largest bicycle producer John Player & Sons Players cigarettes Manlove, Alliott & Co. Ltd. inventors of incinerators for waste disposal. Culture It provides the backdrop for much of Alan Sillitoe s book Saturday Night and Sunday Morning .
