The Ancient British Church in NorthAmerica The Autocephalous Glastonbury Rite in Diaspora is a small body claiming to be Eastern Orthodox in Toronto to serve marginalised people who feel that they are rejected by the Eastern Orthodox Community and the Roman Catholic Church . The church was founded by its first presiding bishop Jonathan Vartan Zotique born Thomas William Brennand on 21 March 1946 in Toronto, Ontario . Zotique was originally ordained to minor orders by Archbishop Nelson D. Hillyer of the Old Roman Catholic Church of Ontario and in October 1970 he was ordained to both the diaconate and presbyterate by Bishop William Mark Plested. In April 1974 he travelled to France where he was consecrated by Clement XV Michel Collin before that bishop s death that same year, taking on the ecclesiastical name of Mar Zitikos at the time of his consecration. Zotique believed, but has no factual evidence to support his belief, that in 1958 Collin had received consecration from Mar Doreos Dorian A. F. Herbert of Newport, Wales the head of the Ancient British Church Agnostic and wished to established a similar church in Canada and the USA. On 12 September 1976 Mar Zitikos was sub conditione consecrated by Archbishop Boniface Grosvold of the Old Roman Catholic Church of Canada Latin Rite . In August 1989 he consecrated two bishops and an abbot bishop for the Ancient British Church in NorthAmerica while he was briefly residing in Victoria, British Columbia. Grants prior to 1621 and not shown on the map include Sir Humphrey Gilbert s 1578 grant for Newfoundland island Newfoundland , the Society of Merchant Venturers , the London and Bristol Company , the Virginia Company the London Company and the Plymouth Company and the Plymouth Council for New England . The previously existing Jamestown, Virginia Jamestown , founded in 1607 by the London Company, is denoted as J . Such grants were usually in the form of land patent s, which specified the right to establish colonial settlements within a specified region. Often such patents were granted by The Crown , but at times such patents were granted secondarily, as in the case of the grant of the Province of Maine by the Plymouth Council for New England . Often such grants were overlapping and apparently contradictory. This feature was often by design, resulting in competitive colonization within a certain area by two or more private ventures. Other uses of Ryder Report Ryder Report disambiguation The Ryder Report was the official report produced for the Her Majesty s Government Government of the United Kingdom in 1975 by Sir Don Ryder , newly appointed head of the United Kingdom UK s National Enterprise Board who was given the task of reporting on the British Leyland Motor Corporation and listing recommendations for its future. The report, titled British Leyland The Next Decade , was prepared by a team that included Bob Clark Chairman of Hill Samuel , Fred MacWhirter a senior partner of Peats and Sam Gillen the ex head of Ford Motor Company Ford UK and Ford of Europe . It was passed to Tony Benn on 26 March 1975, only 14 weeks after commission. At the time the company was in poor state. It had come about from the consolidation and merger of Britain s car and road vehicle companies and their related businesses, including tractor s. Production of many competing models was spread across several locations at sites that had a strong and vocal trade union presence. The report was optimistic about the company, suggesting that it would be likely to keep its one third share of the UK car market. There were no recommendations for plant closures, but for comprehensive organisational changes to the management structure. The report recommended capital expenditure of 1,264 million from the government, backed up with a working capital of 260 million. If this was not taken it would be seen that the government had allowed the UK s leading car company to collapse and fail &ndash a result that could have led to around one million people being put out of work. The result of adopting the report was the effective nationalization of BLMC. The company known largely just as BL would continue, although its troubles were not over.
