  1. Temporal isolation

about the computer science term the biological term Reproductive isolation unreferenced date October 2006 In computer science , temporal isolation is the capability of a set of processes running on the same mode to run without interferences concerning their temporal constraints among each other. Specifically, there is temporal isolation among processes whenever the ability for each process to respect its own timing constraints e.g. terminating a computation within a time limit specified time does not depend on the temporal behavior of other unrelated processes running on the same system, thus sharing with it a set of resources such as the CPU, disk, network, etc. Operating systems able to provide such guarantees to running processes are suitable for hosting Real time computing real time applications. It can be used for contraception, e.g. in vasectomy , wherein the vas deferens vasa deferentia of a man are severed, but is also used plentifully in assisted reproductive technology . Surgical sperm retrieval is an alternative means of semen collection , where other means are not possible, e.g. in posthumous sperm retrieval . 1. Reproductive success

evolutionary biology Reproductive success is defined as the passing of gene s onto the next generation in a way that they too can pass those genes on. In practice, this is often a tally of the number of offspring produced by an individual. A more correct definition, which incorporates inclusive fitness , is the relative production of fertile offspring by a genotype. For example, the offspring produced as a result of normal mating are an example of reproductive success, because they too can pass their genetic material on to the next generation. Alternatively, the birth of a mule as a result of the mating of a horse and a donkey is not an example of reproductive success because the mule is sterile and thus not able to continue the germ line . Reproductive success is part of the calculation for fitness biology fitness and a key element in the theories of natural selection and evolution . References T. H. 1. Reproductive synchrony

Reproductive synchrony is a term used in evolutionary biology and Behavioral ecology behavioural ecology . Reproductive synchrony sometimes termed ovulatory synchrony may manifest itself as breeding seasonality . Where females undergo regular menstruation, menstrual synchrony is another possible term. Reproduction is said to be synchronised when fertile matings across a population are temporally clustered, resulting in multiple conceptions and consequent births within a restricted time window. When multiple species are involved, the phenomenon is often referred to as mass spawning . Mass spawning has been observed and recorded in a large number of phyla, including in coral communities within the Great Barrier Reef. ref Harrison, P.L., Babcock, R.C., Bull, G.D., Oliver, J.K., Wallace, C.C., Willis, B.L., 1984.
