Real time optimally adapting mesh ROAM , is a continuous Level of detail programming level of detail algorithm that optimizes terrain Polygon mesh mesh es. On modern computers, sometimes it is more effective to send a small amount of unneeded polygons to the Graphics processing unit GPU , rather than burden the central processing unit CPU with LOD calculations&mdash making algorithms like geomipmapping more effective than ROAM. This technique is used by graphics programmers in order to produce high quality display while being able to maintain real time framework. Algorithms such as ROAM exist to provide a control over scene quality versus performance in order to provide HQ scenes while retaining real time frame rates on hardware. ROAM largely aims toward terrain visualization, but various elements from ROAM are difficult to place within a game system. ref http www.hindawi.com journals ijcgt 2008 753584 White, M. 2008 . Filmmaker Ellen Spiro and her dog, Sam, join a community of American nomads in order to explore their unconventional lifestyle first hand. Through Spiro s innovative and interpersonal style of filmmaking she captures the spirit of the roamers and the wide variety of reasons they abandoned the more traditional means of retirement. One group of women discusses the thrill of independence and sheer freedom they discovered after escaping repressive relationships. Another expounds upon the pleasures of traveling unencumbered throughout the country. The film is narrated by Spiro s dog, Sam, as he shares his perspective on the whims and follies of human nature.
