Context date October 2009 CCKM is term used in wireless networks. It stands for Cisco Centralized Key Management, which is a form of Fast Roaming . When a wireless LAN is configured for fast reconnection, a Lightweight Extensible Authentication Protocol LEAP enabled Client computing client device can roam from one Wireless access point access point to another without involving the main Server computing server . Using Cisco Centralized Key Management CCKM , an access point configured to provide Wireless Domain Services WDS takes the place of the RADIUS server and authenticates the client without perceptible delay in voice or other time sensitive applications. Actually, the WDS which can be run as a service on a Cisco Access Point or on various router modules caches the user credentials after the initial log on. The user must authenticate with the Radius server the first time then he can roam between access points using cached credentials. This saves time in the roaming process, especially valuable for IP Telephones. The current implementation of CCKM requires Cisco compatible hardware and either LEAP, EAP FAST CCXv3 or PEAP GTC, PEAP MSCHAP, EAP TLS CCXv4 . Multiple issues unreferenced December 2009 orphan December 2009 original research August 2010 A lily pad network is a series of wireless access point s spread over a large area, each connected to a different Computer network network and owned by different enterprises and people, providing Hotspot Wi Fi hotspots where Wi Fi wireless clients can connect to the Internet without regard for the particular networks to which they link. This is in contrast with wireless community network s, where the access points route traffic between them, as well as a corporate wireless LAN where several access points are connected to the corporate network, and the members of the organization are supposed to stick to their own network. Unlike a traditional corporate wireless LAN, which allows access to other networks only via access points connected to the main corporate network, a lily pad does not restrict a network user to connecting only to their own network. In this way, a lily pad network enables the network users to roam over a large area while staying connected, without needing the overheads of the access points to route traffic between the individual networks. Lily pad networks derive their name from their frog like hopping facility, where mobile stations which roam over a large area are akin to frogs, hopping from lily pad to lily pad, and because of the technology, remaining continuously connected. Unlike typical wireless mesh networks, where each network client needs to manage their own network connection continuity, a lily pad network topology enables roaming by linking a number of wireless access points together. A lily pad network is particularly suitable for mobile wireless network connectivity over a large geographic area, such as a combination of coffee houses, libraries, and other public spaces. In these locations wireless access infrastructure is available for configuring the lily pad network to provide hot spots , allowing a mobile station to connect to the Internet ... more details
Unreferenced date May 2008 Navy Island Gold is a traditional New Brunswick song about the site of a supposed buried treasure on Navy Island, New Brunswick Navy Island in Saint John, New Brunswick Saint John Harbour. It is most likely based on accounts of privateers from the Royal Kennebecasis Adventurers Society who captured prizes from American merchant vessels during the War of 1812 . It is believed that the song s lyrics would lead to the discovery of the treasure s location, however the full set of verses has never been found in its entirety. The song also establishes the folk story of the Navy Island Ghost , which is supposedly visible as a glowing light on the island s shore at dusk. The tale of the Navy Island Gold has existed in popular culture since the nineteenth century, however a sheet of lyrics was discovered in the early 1950s during the construction of post war housing in Saint John s North End. The lyrics were scribed on a severely aged parchment, dated 1823, however many lines of the song were missing or illegible. The visible lyrics have been transcribed below. Lyrics One foggy night, In Saint John town The General Smyth, A Privateer Set her anchor down And to the shore, Came a raucous band Who pulled up their skiff, On the Harbour sand. Chorus And Since that Day, We ll roam the Bay, Until we find the Navy Island Gold A man named Bones, Took a chest ashore The rest stood in fear remainder of verse missing Chorus He killed his men, And cursed their souls To roam as ghosts, And protect the gold remainder of verse illegible Chorus Fort Howe struck its gun, And they turned to run remainder of verse missing Chorus Pirates Category Canadian folk songs Category New Brunswick music Category Treasure of Canada Category Culture of Saint John, New Brunswick Category Canadian folklore Folk song stub ... more details
