  1. Robinson Crusoe Island (Fiji)

Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 Robinson Crusoe Island is a small island off the southwest coast of Fiji s main Viti Levu island. It is home to a small resort, mainly geared towards Backpacking travel backpackers . It is approximately an hour drive south of Nadi home to the country s international airport , followed by half hour boat trip. overnight stays and day trips are available from the resorts of Nadi and Denarau Island . The island is named after the story of Robinson Crusoe after a sailing yacht was wrecked on the nearby reef and the captain and his cat coincidentally named friday took refuge on the island. The island is located in an estuary , so a lot of sediment from the river is washed past it. Due to the sediment, the sand around the island appears quite dark and feels muddy especially when swimming in the water. There are no coral reefs directly near the island, mainly different types of seaweed . The large mangrove on the other side of the main resort beach lined with hammocks under coconut trees , means that there is little opportunity for snorkeling other than the 45 minute snorkeling trips over the reef that operate twice daily, which offer a lot of different sea life and include fish feeding. Canoes are available to use free of charge and there is also an option to return to the mainland to visit local villages and attend church services. Crossing between the islands, however, is always difficult because of a man eating shark called Dopey Dick another parody, this time based on Moby Dick . Sam manages to get rid of the shark, who jumps after him on land, only by having a mallet ready on the tree with which to whack the shark back. On his way back to his island, he s chased again by the shark, but this time has a baseball bat ready to whack the shark. Sam mutters that the shark has tried getting him for 20 years, but misses every time. As a result, one can infer that since the shipwreck, Sam has been marooned on the island for the amount of time described above. Sam then uses a cookbook , 1000 Ways To Prepare Coconuts , to make a series of coconut dishes specifically, a meal of tossed coconut ... jumps off. Bugs is then shown to be on the ship itself calling out to Sam as Mister Robinson , making .... 1. Transmeta Crusoe

no footnotes date April 2010 The Crusoe is a family of x86 compatible microprocessor s developed by Transmeta . Crusoe was notable for its method of achieving x86 compatibility. Instead of the instruction set architecture being implemented in hardware, or translated by specialized hardware, the Crusoe runs a software abstraction layer, or a virtual machine , known as the Code Morphing Software CMS . The CMS translates machine code instructions received from programs into native instructions for the microprocessor. In this way, the Crusoe can software emulation emulate other instruction set architecture s ISAs . Currently, this is used to allow the microprocessors to emulate the Intel x86 instruction set. In theory, it is possible for the CMS to be modified to emulate other ISAs. Transmeta demonstrated Crusoe executing Java bytecode by translating the bytecodes into instructions in its native instruction set. The addition of an abstraction layer between the x86 instruction stream and the hardware means that the hardware architecture can change without breaking compatibility, just by modifying ... core versus the 128 bit core of the Crusoe.
