    Rocky Mountain was a historical Alberta provincial electoral district, that existed from 1909 to 1935. In 1909 Rocky Mountain was formed from the western edge of Rosebud provincial electoral district Rosebud in the north part of the riding, the entire riding of Banff provincial electoral district Banff , the western half of High River provincial electoral district High River and Macleod provincial electoral district Macleod . As well as the north part of Pincher Creek provincial electoral district Pincher Creek . In 1940 the north part of the riding merged with Cochrane provincial electoral district Cochrane to form Banff Cochrane . Okotoks High River expanded to fill the central portion of the riding and Pincher Creek provincial electoral district Pincher Creek expanded to fill the south end of the riding and became Pincher Creek Crowsnest . The riding ran the length of the Rocky Mountains along the Alberta British Columbia border. Beginning in 1920 and continuing into the 1930s, park service and administrative structures were built in the National Park Service Rustic style. Most buildings were built of logs under a policy of blending with the natural landscape. Later construction has respected the materials and scale of the area. Structures include McLaren Hall, designed by landscape architect W.G. Hill, a number of employee residences including the superintendent s residence, equipment sheds, garages and utility buildings.
