Unreferenced date February 2009 Iduna was an important literary association founded in May 1891 by a circle of writers around Fritz Lemmermayer . Lemmermayer acted as a sort of middle man between an older generation of authors which included Fercher von Steinwand , Joseph Tandler , Auguste Hyrtl , Ludwig von Mertens , and Josephone von Knorr and a group of younger writers and thinkers which included Rudolf Steiner , Marie Eugenie delle Grazie , and Karl Maria Heidt . The society had the descriptive subtitle of Free German Society for Literature . The name Iduna was provided by Guido von List himself and is that of a North Germanic goddess of eternal youth and renewal. The RAST organises many of the agricultural shows around Tasmania including the Royal Hobart Show . Originally called the Van Diemen s Land Agricultural Society the society was the first agricultural society formed in Australia. The society started in Hobart Town on 1 January 1822. The first show was conducted in January 1822, in the Old Market Place, just in front of the present State Parliament House. It is one of the 18 royal academies in Sweden and was founded on 29 April 1956, taking its name from the 17th century political figure Johan Skytte , who, among other things, contributed to education in Norrland through his initiative of founding a school in Lycksele . The RoyalSociety of Tasmania RST was formed in 1844. The RST was the first RoyalSociety outside the United Kingdom . It started as the Tasmanian Society formed by John Franklin Sir John Franklin assisted by Ronald Campbell Gunn . On the event of the sesquicentenary of the Society it published the volume Walk to the West to publish the diary of James Backhouse Walker of a walk in 1887, which also included Piguenit s paintings from that journey as well.
