Built in 1092 by King Mahipala of the Kachchhapaghata Kachchhwaha dynasty. This temple is one of the greatest architectural marvel situated in Gwalior fort. It is 32mt long and 22mt is its breath. This temple mainly has 3 entrances from three different direction in the 4th direction there is a room which is currently closed. The whole temple is carved with beautiful carvings that are worth seen. In above of its entrance door 4 idols of Bramha, Vishnu and Saraswati is carved. In 17th century Aurangazeb tried to destroy this temple but he was unable to do it. He put limestone above all the other idols. The limestone doesn t remains over the stone for a long time thus soon the limestone got fallen and there was a conflict whether it was a Jain temple or a Hindu temple.But in Captain H.Kolar and Major J.B.kint taken out all the limestone completely and restored the temple completely. This temple is one of the and would remain remain one of the greatest architectural marvel in Gwalior Fort.
