    Hugh of Saint Omer ref Hugh of Falkenberg, Hugh of Fauquembergues. ref died 1106 was the Prince of Galilee and Lord of Tiberias from 1101 to his death. Fauquembergues and Saint Omer Saint Omer are both situated near each other. Hugh was lord of the former and his family, which was to gain fame in subsequent Crusades , hailed from the latter. Born in Th rouanne , Hugh accompanied Baldwin I of Jerusalem Baldwin of Boulogne on the First Crusade and into Mesopotamia in 1098, where he carved out the County of Edessa .   1. Nicholas II of Saint Omer

    Nicholas II of Saint Omer was the lord of half of Thebes, Greece from 1258 to 1294. He served as bailiff of the Principality of Achaea between 1287 and 1289. He was the son of Bela of Saint Omer and the Theben heiress Bonne de la Roche. In 1287, William I de la Roche William I of Athens died and was succeeded by his son Guy II de la Roche Guy II . He had been bailiff in Achaea and that position was taken up by Nicholas. He was the second richest and most influential baron living in the Latin Empire Latin East after Guy. He continued William s policy of fortification of the Messenia and built the Old Navarino castle castle at Navarino . Peace and prosperity continued under his regime. The Chronicle of Morea says, He governed with nobility and wisdom, and kept the country at peace. He was succeeded in 1289 by Guy de Charpigny , baron of Vostitsa . His first wife was Mary, daughter of Bohemund VI of Antioch , and his second was Anna, daughter of Michael II Komnenos Doukas . A nephew of Nicholas II of St Omer Nicholas II , he served on two occasions as bailiff of the Principality of Achaea 1300&ndash 1302, 1304&ndash 1307 . Nicholas, as marshal of Achaea for Princess Isabella of Villehardouin , recommended marrying the young heiress Matilda of Hainaut Matilda to Guy II de la Roche Guy II of Athens to solidify the alliance between the two countries 1299 . Nicholas later fell out with Isabella s second husband, Philip I of Piedmont Philip of Savoy , when he arrested the chancellor Benjamin of Kalamata . Nicholas protested the act by confronting the new prince at Glarentsa , but violence was averted. Nicholas joined his suzerain Guy of Athens in repelling the invasion of Neopatria by Thomas I Comnenus Ducas , Despot of Epirus . In 1304, Nicholas counselled Philip to call a parliament at Corinth in order to avoid going to war against Epirus. When Philip left later that year for Italy, to settle his claim to Piedmont , Nicholas was appointed bailiff in his absence.
