Image Benelli m4 2.jpg thumb right 400px Benelli M4 Super 90 semi automatic shotgun A semi automatic shotgun is a form of shotgun that is able to fire a cartridge after every trigger squeeze, without any manual chambering of another round being required. The weapon uses the force of the gas created by the accelerated burning of the propellant not just to propel the wadding which pushes the shot down the barrel, but also to cycle the action, eject the empty shell and load another round. This process is similar to all automatic firearm automatic weapons , including automatic Machine pistol pistol s and automatic rifle rifle s. Many semi automatic shotguns also provide an optional manual means of operation such as by pump action or via a charging handle . Image semi sub inside.jpg thumb 250px Right The inside of a submerged semi submarine Semi submarines are Semi submersible submersibles vessels that are capable of diving, similarly to submarine submarines . However, unlike submarines, they cannot be entirely submerged below the surface of the water. Design The most common design is one similar to a ship. The passenger cabin is relatively low, a few meters below sea level . The cabin is equipped with large windows into the water. The passengers can observe the marine environment that is passed during the voyage. There are significant differences between a submarine and a semi submarine from an engineering point of view. Submarines are human occupied pressure vessels, while pressure concerns apply to a lesser extent to semi submarines. As the pressure close to the water surface is relatively low, the viewing windows can be bigger. In some advanced designs the windows enclose the majority of the submersed hull, creating an experience comparable to scuba diving . Customers can leave the submerged cabin for the unsubmerged deck at any time. Use Semi submarines can be used for Research vessel research , but they are most commonly used in the tourism tourism industry. However, large tourism orientated semi submarines should not be confused with narco submarine s which are smaller home made semi submarines used to smuggle drugs. Legal Status Semi submarines do not have an international classified status. Their operating range from the native port might be limited by the local authorities. Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 Image Belton House 2006.Giano.gif thumb right 250px Belton House . Externally the windows of the servant s semi basement are visible at ground level. Internally they are too close to the ceiling to have a view. Semi basement is architectural term for a floor of a building that is half below ground, rather than entirely such as a true basement or Basement cellar . Traditionally semi basements were designed in larger houses where staff are kept. A semi basement usually contained kitchen s and domestic offices. The advantage over a basement is that a semi basement is lighter as it can have windows, albeit interior windows that are often too high to enjoy a view. Historically this was an advantage as the servants, who traditionally inhabited such a floor, would not have the opportunity to waste time by looking out of the window. The feature also has the aesthetic value of raising the ground floor, containing the building s reception rooms higher from the ground in order that they could enjoy better views, and be more free from the damp problems which always arose before the days of modern technology. Today, London estate agents when selling former servant s rooms as modern apartment s often refer to the semi basement as the garden floor . 1. Semi-Monde

Semi Monde is a play written by No l Coward in 1926, but not produced until 1977. Set in the lobby, restaurants, and bar of an up scale Paris hotel probably the H tel Ritz Paris H tel Ritz , the play follows the lives of a variety of socialites over a three year period from 1924 to 1926. It is remarkable among its contemporaries due to its prominent human sexuality sexuality and homosexuality . This, however, is but the facade of Coward s exploration of the disconnected monotony of the lives of the elite. The play was first produced in 1977 by the Glasgow Citizen s theatre. The English premiere was produced by the Crescent Theatre , Birmingham, in 1979. It has been produced only once since, in 2001 by the Lyric Theatre of London. No further professional performances are known of the only other production recorded was a production by Arts Canterbury in Ottawa in 2006. In addition, it was also produced as a public performance at the Central School of Speech and Drama, London, between 28 February and 3 March 2007. Significance Noel Coward, it is assumed, knew that the Semi Monde could not be produced in the environment of censorship that existed in the 1920s. However, in private correspondence, Coward described it as jagged with sophistication , and sought to have it produced in Germany . It has been put forward that Semi Monde is Coward s personal exploration of the high society of which he was a member.
