The nihongo Shiba clan Shiba shi was a Japanese clan claiming descent from the Minamoto clan of the Heian period that held influence and territory in the provinces of Echizen Province and Owari Province to which they were governors during the Sengoku period . However, they were unable to make a transition to Sengoku daimyo and lost Echizen to the Asakura in the 1470s at the beginning of the era for this reason. The lost succession process was enacted by Asakura Toshikage , who took their power via usurpation. By the year 1550 the Shiba were represented by Shiba Yoshimune of Owari province, a figurehead behind which the Iwakura branch of the Oda clan had ruled. His domain was Kiyosu Castle . When Yoshimune was killed in the year 1554 by Oda Nobutomo the clan effectively came to an end. ref The Samurai Archives Shiba clan ref ref The Samurai Archives Asakura clan ref ref Encyclopedia of Japanese History ref japan hist stub Notes reflist Category Japanese clans Category Ashikaga clan fr Clan Shiba ja zh ... more details

He acted to block the northward progress of Nitta Yoshisada , who supported the Emperor of Japan Emperor s Southern Court against the Shogun s Northern Court Japan Northern Court . Shiba, in his role as Constable, served the Shogun and thus the Northern Court. In 1336, an ally of Nitta named Uryu Tamotsu Ury Tamotsu attacked Shiba s castle, which fell soon afterwards. Two years later, Shiba was ordered by the shogun Ashikaga Takauji to attack Ury s fortress at Somayama. The attack failed, and Shiba was forced to fight Nitta s forces again in the defense of the Kuromaru Black Fortress . With the aid of forces sent by Takauji and sohei warrior monks from Heisenji , the fortress was held, and Nitta Yoshisada mortally wounded in the battle. Despite this great victory, Shiba was defeated once again in 1340, when the newly throned Emperor Go Murakami sent an army to attack the Kuromaru. Shiba was forced to surrender. The same year, a number of men claiming to serve Shiba invaded an area called Kawaguchi sh , which was controlled by the K fuku ji temple. In 1363 Shiba seized the area officially, becoming essentially a daimy feudal lord , gaining independent power beyond what was given him by the Shogunate. The monks of K fuku ji resorted to various forms of blackmail and were granted their land back. However, Shiba continued to gain power, instituting shugo uke , a system under which the Constable would take a set amount of rice from the people of the land, paying the peoples taxes to the Shogun and keeping the rest as a sort of commission. Of those few Constables who became lords in their own right, most if not all abused this system, earning great revenues for themselves. As the Constables .... The Nihongo Shiba River Shiba gawa is a tributary of the Arakawa River that mainly runs through the eastern part of Saitama Prefecture. The river has Nihongo Suehiro and Nihongo Kobari ry ke in Okegawa, Saitama as points of origin and flows through Ageo, Saitama Ageo , Minuma and Kawaguchi, Saitama Kawaguchi , and connects to the Arakawa River . History Originally, the river flew into a wetland at the current region of Minuma . In 1629, a civil engineering project by Nihongo Ina Tadaharu created a reservoir and blocked the flow. In 1727, the reservoir levee was demolished to open up the area for creating rice paddies. In 1728, the lowest sections of the area were gouged to allow for the passage of water, which set the current position of the river. Water quality The water quality of the river is poor, since it flows through urban areas. A report published in 2006 by the Ministry of the Environment indicates levels of Dioxin chemical Dioxin above the standards set for public waterways. For this reason, recent years saw efforts to clear up the river. ref http ja.wikipedia.org wiki E8 8A 9D E5 B7 9D E5 9F BC E7 8E 89 E7 9C 8C Retrieved from the Japanese Wikipedia, on 2008 September 6 ref References reflist coord missing Saitama Prefecture Category Rivers of Saitama Prefecture ja ... more details
