  1. Ferrantino Malatesta

    Ferrantino Malatesta 1258 12 November 1353 was a lord of Rimini and several other lands in northern Italy , a member of the House of Malatesta Malatesta family . He was the son of Malatestino dell Occhio , becoming lord in Rimini after the death of the latter s brother Pandolfo I Malatesta Pandolfo I . Ferrantino had been previously podest of Bologna , Florence Padua , Forl , Cesena and other cities. In 1330 he was banned from Rimini by the Papal legate, through the intrigues of his uncle Malatesta II Malatesta Malatesta Guastafamiglia of Pesaro . Ferrantino ruled again briefly from 1334 to 1335, when he was imprisoned by Guastafamiglia. He died in Rimini in 1353.     Malatestino Malatesta also known as Malatesta I or II Malatesta , nicknamed Il Guercio od dell Occhio died October 14, 1317 was the lord of Rimini from 1312 until his death. He was the son of Malatesta da Verucchio , inheriting the lordship after his death. He was also the brother of Gianciotto Malatesta , husband of Francesca da Rimini , and of Paolo Malatesta . As well as the latter, Malatestino is mentioned by Dante in his Divine Comedy Inferno XVII, 48 48 and XVIII, 76 84 , described as a tyrant like his father, and as the assassin of Guido del Cassero and Angiolello da Carignano . He was podest of Cesena 1290 1295 , capitano del popolo of Bologna in 1296, podest of Rimini 1302 and capitano del popolo of Florence 1303 . In 1312 he became lord of Rimini, to which he subsequently added Cesena and Jesi . Malatestino was succeeded laterally by his brother Pandolfo I Malatesta Pandolfo I .     Galeotto Roberto Malatesta 1412 1432 was an Italian people Italian condottiero . He was the son of Pandolfo III Malatesta and succeeded him in the lordship of Rimini in contrast with the local bishop after the people rose against the latter, he obtained by Pope Martin V that his father s lands were entrusted to him and his brothers Domenico Malatesta Domenico and Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta Sigismondo . Later he had to face a rebellion spurred by Giovanni V Malatesta , but the people itself helped him in confirming his territories. Galeotto Roberto also thwarted the aims on Cesena of the Malatesta branch of Pesaro .     Sigismondo Caula was born at Modena in 1637. He was the pupil of Jean Boulanger , but finished his studies at Venice, from the works of Titian and Tintoretto . Besides his Altarpiece altar pieces , he painted Cabinet painting cabinet pictures for private collections. His best production was his large picture of St. Charles Borromeo assisting the plague stricken people of Modena, which was painted, with great vigour and expression, for the church of San Carlo. It is now in the Galleria Estense Este Gallery at Modena, which also possesses a figure of St. Ambrose by him. In the latter portion of his life he became more languid in his coloring and execution.
