Formerly part of the kingdom of Northumbria , the area was settled by Norsemen Scandinavians some time in either the 9th or 10th century. The cross itself dates to the first half of the 10th century. Description The Gosforth Cross has elaborate carvings which have been interpreted as representing characters and scenes from Norse mythology . She worked with virological research there during and after her studies until 1983 . Then she turned her life and became a professional artist. Lunden as an artist From the very beginning you can find signs, like triangles, crosses and circles in her work, later also hieroglyphs and Arabian signs, symbols that have been used by humanity in many parts of the world from the very beginning of history for communication as well as ornamentation.
