Uses Gasket s Sheets High temperature tubes for autoclave s Firestop s Surfactant s Vulcanisation When the constituent components of silicone foam are mixed together, they evolve hydrogen gas, which causes bubbles to form within the rubber, as it changes from liquid to solid. This results in an outward pressure, causing friction between the foam and whatever it is poured into. Temperature and humidity can influence the rate of expansion. Silicone grease is a waterproof grease lubricant grease made by combining a silicone oil with a thickener. Most commonly, the silicone oil is polydimethylsiloxane and the thickener is amorphous fumed silica . Using this formulation, silicone grease is a translucent white viscous paste, with exact properties dependent on the type and proportion of the components.. Use in industry Silicone grease is commonly used for lubricating and preserving rubber parts, such as O ring s. Additionally, silicone grease does not swell or soften the rubber, which can be a problem with hydrocarbon based greases. It functions well as a corrosion inhibitor and lubricant for purposes that require a thicker lubricant, such as the operating mechanism of the M1 Garand rifle. Product names of Green Gas typically vary from Green Gas to Ultra Blow Back Gas or similar, though they are all inherently the same type of Green Gas propellent. The propane option has become popular in that the solution is cheaper in the long run than Green Gas, as well as being more widely available compared to Green Gas.
