unreferenced date January 2009 Neon Hunk was a husband wife noise music duo, composed of Jennifurmium Mothmaster vocals and analog synthesizer ring modulator , and Pink Diamond Mossmaster Drums, Vocals, and Modular Digital Synthesizer. Neon Hunk formed in the summer of 2000 under the name Abracadaver , but changed their name to Neon Hunk in 2001. Neon Hunk Disbanded in 2004. Both members of Neon Hunk have continued to record music independently after halting activity with the band. The music of Neon Hunk featured sparse, drum and synthesizer arrangements, generally non tonal, and often in non standard and frequently changing time signatures . Neon Hunk s vocals were processed with a vocoder with a noise source as the carrier, and were often likened to the sound of a cougar . Their sound combined aspects of progressive and experimental rock, punk, avant garde electronic noise music, and at times, free improvisation . The music is held together with a quirky, cartoonish pop sensibility. Typical Neon Hunk songs rarely exceeded two minutes, though live shows sometimes featured longer improvised jam sessions as documented on their tape only release Neyan Honkies and the self released tour only release, SECRETS OF THE HUNK . Neon Hunk sited diverse influences including Black Sabbath , Melvins , Ruins , Rush band Rush , Blue Cheer , early Devo , and Kraftwerk , as well as musical contemporaries such as many of their Load Records peers and many other artists within the underground noise and punk community. Neon Venus was born out of the NYC club circuit and the world wide web in 1997 and is currently based in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. They perform live shows at clubs, city events and colleges. Image Ravenna Baptistry of Neon.jpg thumb The Baptistry of Neon. The Baptistry of Neon Italian Battistero Neoniano is a religious building in Ravenna , central Italy . The most ancient monument remaining in the city, it was partly erected on the site of a Roman bath . It is also called the Orthodox Baptistry to distinguish it from the Arian Baptistry constructed on behest of Ostrogothic King Theodoric the Great Theodoric some 50 years later. The octagonal brick structure was erected by Bishop Ursus at the end of the 4th or beginning of the 5th century, as part of his great Basilica destroyed in 1734 . The baptistery was finished by Bishop Neon at the end of the 5th century, at which time the mosaic decorations were added. The original floor is now some 3 meters underground, so the proper structure and extent of the building can no longer be seen. The octagonal design of the building, employed in virtually all Early Christian baptisteries, symbolizes the seven days of the week plus the Day of the Resurrection and Eternal Life. The ceiling mosaic depicts John the Baptist baptizing Jesus depicted with beard standing waist high in the Jordan River . To one side stands the personification of the Jordan river, with a reed in one hand and a garment in the other. NEON BLUE is a five piece indie music indie country rock band from Bancroft, Ontario Bancroft , Ontario , Canada . The band is fronted by singer songwriter bassist Mark Doney and drummer harmony singer Sean Doney. Together the brothers independently funded the debut NEON BLUE self titled cd and released it to the European radio market in 2005. The brothers continue to make changes to their act, adding new musician performers to the band as well as new original songs to their already extensive catalogue. The Doney s remain as the vocal core of the band in 2010.
