Gospel Aerobics is a form of rhythmic aerobic exercise that uses gospel music , spiritual encouragement and motivation during the routine. Both the term Gospel Aerobics and the specific concept are the brainchild of Maryland based Hope Mason who was joined by her husband Marc Mason in making the production of the show Gospel Aerobics a reality. The concept included the phrase, Gospel Aerobics Worshiping God with the whole man Spirit, Soul and Body , with the goal of affecting the whole man. In 1996, the now defunct Baltimore Cable Access Corporation BCAC the public access in Baltimore City offered training on the campus of Coppin State University to those that aspired to produce television programming in the area. In 1996, the television show entitled Gospel Aerobics was produced by the couple who later went on to win an award in 1997 for the pioneering effort that aired on BCAC for 1 season. It was the first of its kind. The term Full Gospel is often used as a synonym for Pentecostalism , a Protestant movement originating in the 19th century. Early Pentecostals saw their teachings on baptism with the Holy Spirit , spiritual gifts , and divine healing as a return to the doctrines and power of the Apostolic Age . Because of this many early Pentecostals called their movement the Apostolic Faith or the Full Gospel. This term has origins in the holiness movement . A. B. Simpson , the founder of the Christian and Missionary Alliance , framed his core beliefs around the Fourfold Gospel , that Christ is Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Soon Coming King. Many Pentecostals were influenced by Simpson and adopted his Fourfold or Foursquare Gospel as an articulation of their beliefs. This term is still used today in the name of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel . The term Full Gospel also refers to Romans 15,18 19, where Paul says ... to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. Death Gospel is a genre of music popularized in the 21st century by the folk americana artist Adam Arcuragi , and his band The Lupine Chorale Society.
