    Morison & Co. were Cabinet makers and upholsterers established by Mathew Morison in Ayr Ayr, Scotland c.1808. It ceased to exist as a separate entity in 1902 when the business was sold to W Turner Lord and Co of London, who continued to use it as a trading name. History James Morison took over the business from his father. By the time of his death, 2nd June 1862, the cabinet maker was based in Edinburgh and trading as Morison & Co. William Reid worked for the company and took over the business on James death. She was born July 17, 1855, in the Tsimshian village of Lax Kw alaams , then known by its colonial name of Fort Simpson or Port Simpson. She was the daughter of a Tsimshian traditional healer and midwife named Mary Quintal later Curtis and French Canadian employee of the Hudson s Bay Company HBC fort in the village, Fran ois Quintal. Following her mother in the matrilineal system of the Tsimshian, Odille was a member of the Gitlaan tribe and most likely of the Killerwhale crest. She grew up trilingual, in English, Tsimshian, and French, and also knew the Chinook Jargon trade language. In 1874, he graduated from the University of Edinburgh , and as a young man was an assistant and surgical dresser to Joseph Lister, 1st Baron Lister Joseph Lister 1827 1912 . Later, he became a surgeon at the Royal Victoria Infirmary Newcastle Royal Infirmary and a professor at the University of Durham . He was considered by his students to be an excellent teacher. He is remembered for the eponymous Morison s pouch , which is also known as the hepatorenal recess, an anatomical space between the under surface of the liver and the right kidney . His name is also associated with a surgical incision for appendicectomy Rutherford Morison incision , and a medical instrument Rutherford Morison tissue forceps . During World War I , he was stationed at the Northumberland War Hospital, where he introduced a paste for treatment of contaminated wounds.
