However, the Concert Hall has a Neoclassical architecture Neo Classical exterior look, due to the surrounding area at G taplatsen where the building is placed the Gothenburg Art Museum Art Museum and the Gothenburg City Theatre City Theatre are solid classically designed buildings as well, and were built before the Concert Hall. In contrast to the exterior, the Concert Hall s interior is modernistic. The main auditorium s plain shaped walls are clad in yellowish red maple veneer and there are 1,300 seats. There is also a smaller concert hall, Stenhammarsalen, for chamber concerts. The acoustic qualities of Gothenburg Concert Hall have given it a reputation well outside the Swedish borders Deutsche Grammophon has used the Concert Hall as a studio for a number of records, for example. The hall can accommodate 1,122 seats, 640 on the ground floor and 482 on the second floor. The stage is 8.35 meters times 16 meters, covering around 100 sq. meters. The Concert Hall was designed by a Chinese architect Fan Wen jiao, but it adopted traditional European style. In order to make way for Highway on Yan an Rd, the hall was relocated in 2007. The project embarked at 10 am on April 15, and cost 50 million RMB.     A Carnegie Hall Christmas Concert is a 1991 Public Broadcasting Service PBS special that originally aired as part of its Great Performances franchise. Recorded in early December, 1991 at Carnegie Hall in New York , the 90 minute concert is a program of traditional, secular, and religious Christmas carols performed by soprano Kathleen Battle and mezzo soprano Frederica von Stade , a jazz band led by Wynton Marsalis , and orchestra & chorus conducted by Andre Previn . There is no introductory dialogue between songs, all material is either sung or performed. After its initial airing, the show was repeated the following Christmas season on PBS. It has not aired since. However, it is currently available on DVD following a VHS and LaserDisc issue in 1992 . A soundtrack album has also been issued with a majority of the songs as aired, but out of broadcast order so as to fit on a single CD.
