Although it never matched the sales volumes of the largest PC retailers, their products met wide acceptance by customers. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on August 17, 2000 when its key supplier, Fountain Technologies , who also supplied computers for the Pionex , Inteva , and CyberMax brands, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Quantex computers were built to a high standard, and regularly won awards in many computer publications. Even up to the point that they filed for Chapter 11, the awards were still being dealt out. The attraction for many was that Quantex combined high build quality, great technical support before the financial trouble , brand name components and above all lower cost than most rivals. Quantex s European operations were taken care of in the Stevenage , UK. The UK operation continued for several months after the US company declared bankruptcy, and were easily contactable during that period. The inevitable happened though, and Quantex UK slipped away. Refimprove date June 2009 NSF Engineering Research Center for Wireless Integrated Microsystems ERC WIMS was formed in 2000 through the collaboration of the University of Michigan UM , Michigan State University MSU , and Michigan Technological University . This partnership combined UM s programs in sensors and microsystems with MSU s leadership in materials, especially in diamond and in carbon nanotube s, and Michigan Tech s expertise in packaging , micromilling, and hot Embossing manufacturing embossing . The center is funded by the National Science Foundation . Additional contributions came from the state of Michigan , the three partnering core universities, other federal agencies, and a consortium of about twenty companies. The ERC WIMS works on merging micropower circuits, wireless interfaces, biomedical and environmental sensors and subsystems, and advanced packaging to create microsystems that will have a pervasive impact on society during the next two decades. The Sun ONE brand was primarily used for products that resulted from Sun s alliance with Netscape Communications Corporation . The name was also applied to other Sun software products such as Sun ONE Studio 8 and Sun ONE Active Server Pages 4.0. Sun ONE was introduced on April 15, 2002, to supersede the iPlanet brand name, following the end of the Sun Netscape alliance. for the earlier Sun workstation product line of the same name Sun Blade workstation Sun Blade is a line of blade server computer systems sold by SunMicrosystems from 2006 onwards. In June 2006, Sun announced the AMD Opteron based Sun Blade 8000 modular blade server system. The Sun Blade 8000 chassis can hold up to 10 Sun Blade X8420 or X8440 modules. The following year, the Sun Blade 6000 system was launched. This allowed mixed UltraSPARC and x64 x86 64 architecture blades. The Sun Blade T6300 and T6320 modules run Solaris operating system Solaris and use UltraSPARC T1 and UltraSPARC T2 processors respectively, while the Sun Blade X6220 and X6250 modules use AMD Opteron or Intel Xeon 5000 series processors respectively.
