Unreferenced date February 2007 infobox person image Replace this image male.svg nationality Australian Roelf Vos 1921 1992 was a wealthy Tasmanian businessman who, amongst other achievements, established a supermarket chain carrying his name initially in Launceston, Tasmania Launceston , but later expanded throughout the whole of northern Tasmania . The equivalent in the south of the state was Purity Supermarkets . Vos initially purchased a corner milk bar and store in Launceston, Tasmania. From this humble beginning he went on to introduce self service shopping to northern Tasmania, and the business grew into a chain of ten supermarkets, employing over 500 people. In 1982 the supermarket operations were sold to Woolworths supermarket Woolworths . The Vos family retained ownership of the properties, including two shopping centres in the north and north west of Tasmania. Although they retained the Roelf Vos branding for some time, they were eventually rebranded as Woolworths in the early 2000s. At the time of the final loss of the Roelf Vos name, the stores in Launceston included a CBD store Wellington Street , as well as Newstead, Tasmania Newstead , Kings Meadows, Tasmania Kings Meadows , Prospect Vale, Tasmania Prospect Vale , Riverside, Tasmania Riverside and Newnham, Tasmania Newnham . The CBD Wellington Street and Newstead stores are now Coles Supermarkets Coles supermarkets, and the Newnham store has closed and is now a City Mission charity store. Ida Vos maiden name Gudema Groningen city Groningen , December 13, 1931 Amstelveen , April 3, 2006 was a Dutch author. She wrote books for adults and children. In most of her books, Vos wrote about her experiences as a Jewish girl during the Second World War . Her best known book was Wie niet weg is wordt gezien English Who isn t gone will be seen , which was awarded with a Dutch literature prize for children s books in 1982. From 1936, Vos and her family lived in Rotterdam . She experienced in Rotterdam the German bombardment of the city in May 1940, after which her family moved to Rijswijk near The Hague . In 1943 the Gudema family went into hiding. Vos and her sister Elly were separated from their parents during this period relating to her book Hide and Seek . After the war Vos became a kindergarten teacher. She married in 1956, and had three children. During the 1970s she was admitted to a hospital due to her war traumas.
