  1. 2003 King Taco 500

The 2003 Toyota Indy 400 King Taco 500 was to have been the nineteenth and final round of the 2003 CART World Series season on November 9, 2003 at the Auto Club Speedway California Speedway in Fontana, California . However, the event was canceled because of a series of large wildfire s in the San Bernardino Mountains north of the speedway. The wildfire, which was dubbed the Old Fire 2003 Old Fire , started on October 25, was just one of many in the Southern California region at the time. Because of concerns about the air quality, fan and driver safety and worries that safety equipment and volunteers needed for the race would be occupied in fighting the fires, the race was initially postponed on October 28. When attempts to find a date to reschedule the event failed, the race was officially cancelled on October 29. A scheduled NASCAR Camping World West Series NASCAR Winston West Series support race was also cancelled. Points leader Paul Tracy became the season champion. ref http www.motorsport.com news article.asp?ID 141310&FS INDYCAR Motorsport.com Champ Car season ends early due to California fires ref References references CART World Series race report Name of race Toyota Indy 400 2003 King Taco 500 Year of race 2003 Previous race in season 2003 Lexmark Indy 300 Next race in season 2004 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach br Next Season br as Champ Car World Series Previous year s race 2002 The 500 Next year s race 2004 IndyCar Series season Toyota Indy 400 2004 Toyota Indy 400 br IndyCar Series event Category 2003 in CART Fontana Category Toyota Indy 400 ...   more details
