The rest, as they say, is history as Len s show became one of the most listened to on the station. Voice of the balls UK National Lottery United Kingdom National Lottery Alan Dedicoat provided some material from which Len s on air jingles were made, proudly announcing the Tuesday Teatime Nostalgia Show, which is still broadcast on the station between 4 and 7pm that day. So popular was the show that a further edition was added on Friday teatime from 4 6pm, under the title The Friday HOOT . Len explained that this stands for Hospital radio On Old Time. Jingles for this second show were voiced by Stuart Barrett of the BBC in Manchester. It was created by Jonathan King as a British version of his series Entertainment USA and would usually go out in a teatime early evening slot such as Tuesdays at 7pm. The show s logo was a roadsign with a red ring and a black dash. The show was presented in its first series by Jeremy Legg and Lisa Maxwell actress Lisa Maxwell , and for the remaining three series by Tony Baker and Jenny Powell . The presenters regularly took part in stunts such as jetbiking . Following on from a brief spell on Radio Luxembourg English Radio Luxembourg in 1966 he joined pirate Wonderful Radio London Radio London . BBC Radio Brandon joined BBC Radio 1 later in 1967, presenting editions of Midday Spin as well as deputising for presenters on the station. In 1970 he took over his own daily show entitled, Sounds Like Tony Brandon , every weekday afternoon from 2 3pm, where he remained until 1971, when he joined BBC Radio 2 , presenting the early show, along with Percy , a recording of birdsong, which Tony would play at some point in the show, to indicate that Percy had woken up . His first outside broadcast road show was at HMS Raleigh shore establishment HMS Raleigh in June 1972. He also presented weekday lunchtime, teatime & afternoon shows. He then went onto present the weekly Tony Brandon meets the Saturday people & also a comedy show for the station. He eventually left Radio 2 in 1982 Theatre From 1984, Brandon returned to the theatre & spent three years touring the UK & Canada in various plays & has also been in pantomime. Commercial Radio From the mid 1980s, Brandon was heard on various commercial radio stations across the UK, including Southern Sound Radio, where he presented the weekday lunchtime show. From 2001 2004, he was heard on Birmingham s Saga 105.7FM , where he presented his weekly Wireless Workshop show, every Sunday from 10am 1pm.
