It was the third version to be produced by Harry Alan Towers , following his Ten Little Indians 1965 film 1965 and And Then There Were None 1974 film 1974 adaptations. In the opening credits it is stated that the film is based on Christie s stage adaptation and makes no mention of her novel, perhaps because the film s climax is taken almost verbatim from the stage script. Other western adaptations, while all still using an upbeat finale, have significantly toned down the action packed climax Christie used in the play. Harry Alan Towers commissioned the original script that used the novel s original ending in which Lombard gets shot and Vera hangs herself and setting the action on an island, however, both of these were changed at the last minute. This version also introduced a lesbian affair. Herbert Lom, who plays the General here, starred in the 1974 version as Dr. Armstrong. The film has been released on VHS ...     citations date May 2011 The Little Ten Conference is the oldest continuous high school athletic conference in the state of Illinois . Founded in 1919, it was originally comprised the following small high schools in northern Illinois Earlville, Hinckley, Leland High School Leland, Illinois Leland , Paw Paw High School Illinois Paw Paw , Plano, Rollo, Sandwich, Shabbona, Somonauk, and Waterman. The conference is still in operation and currently consists of the following members Earlville, Hinckley Big Rock, Indian Creek, Kirkland Hiawatha, LaMoille, Leland, Newark, Paw Paw, Serena, and Somonauk. Over the years, there have been a number of other area schools in the conference, including Malta. Charter members consist of Earlville, Leland, Paw Paw, Somonauk, Hinckley now combined into Hinckley Big Rock , Shabbona, and Waterman which have respectively merged to form Indian Creek .     Little River Band of Ottawa Indians is a federally recognized tribe of Odawa people Ottawa Indians whose headquarters are located on their 1836 reservation in Manistee, Michigan . They also own lands in their 1855 reservation in Mason County, Michigan . They represent 9 villages or bands of the original Grand River Bands. The Tribe became well known in the area after the opening of the Little River Casino and Resort. The tribe s original language is Anishinaabemowin , an Algonquian languages Algonquian language . Some elders and members can still speak the full language but the tribe is spread out far beyond their reservation and the language is not in common usage.
