It was directly adjacent to, and physically connected with, the Club Townsend , another famous club on the other side of the block at 177 Townsend Street. The King Street Garage hosted many clubs, notably the monthly http www.newwavecity.com New Wave City dance club which celebrated the best post punk , synthpop , and New Wave music new wave music of the 1970s and 1980s. Inside, King Street was a high cavernous hall with a large dance floor cornered by speaker stacks, with a spacious balcony level above it on three sides. Two staircases near the rear led up to the balcony level. There was a main bar on the lower level, and a small bar with some table seating on the balcony. The high back wall served as a giant projection screen for visuals. Often there were box platforms near the floor for people to get up and dance on. The Disc jockey DJ s control station overlooked the floor from the balcony near the rear of the club. King Street closed in June 2002, as the neighborhood was being disrupted and gentrified due to the presence of the new ballpark across the street. The site was later redeveloped as office space. The Mudhafaria Minaret lang ar , also known among Kurds as Choly Minaret, is a minaret located in new the Minare Park on the west region of Arbil , Iraq . The minaret is 36 m high, was built in 1190 1232 AD 630 586 according to Islamic Calendar during the reign of Muzaffar Al Din Abu Sa eed Al Kawkaboori, the king of Arbil at that time. The minaret is composed of a high octagonal base and a tall cylindrical shaft, with a balcony located between the base and the shaft. It is s built of baked bricks, the base being decorated with two tiers of niches with pointed arches, two on each of the eight faces that are inscribed in rectangular frames. The balcony parapet is carved with twenty four small niches, the access door to the minaret steps is on the eastern side of the octagonal base and leads top to the balcony. From there a small door gives access to steps inside the cylindrical shaft that led to the second balcony now collapsed. The shaft tapers inward and is decorated with several bands of interlocking diagonal hazarbaf Hazar Baf motifs that are separated with thin bands. Examples of Kufi calligraphy can be seen, showing the names of Muhammad and Mas oudi Muhammadi, the builders of the Minaret. Often one or two followspot s are located in the booth as well. Generally it is an enclosed space with a large sliding window with a good view of the stage. In a proscenium theater , it is centered in the back of the Front of House house . It might be on the ground floor, but is sometimes placed at the balcony level. It is designed to allow lighting and sound operators to be FOH theatre Front of House , and be able to see the performance, without being in the auditorium itself. This means that they are free to talk to their colleagues in the booth, and also the Stage management team and other crew members via the communications Headset audio headset . A booth that is sealed to the auditorium also allows for noisier equipment to be used, in particular computers and computer based Lighting control console lighting desks , which require built in fans in order to work properly. The downside to having a sealed booth is that it can be difficult for the sound engineer to mix without being able to hear what is actually happening on stage.
