Orphan date May 2011 Biography Work based on Anthroposophy views the human circle of life on one hand as being embedded in the rhythms of nature and the cosmos on the other hand shaped by the individual power of creativity in everyone s Self. History Biography Work goes back to the publications of Bernard Lievegoed in the 1970s. Before this time, there were only widespread references in Rudolf Steiner s comprehensive lecture work, pointing at certain regularities in human s circle of life. Lievegoed summarized these data and introduced a new way of life consultation to the world, using a work process he had developed in co operation with Gudrun Burkhard. Method Biography Consultants support their clients in developing a continuous view of the past in order to achieve a new evaluation of past events in their life. Any single event loses its weight and the process like character of all events and their interaction become more important. Biography Work assumes that any human being is obliged to comply with tasks in life. These life tasks, stemming from our subconscious levels. are the driving force to our behaviour. Biography Work helps to get closer to this central theme the red thread that runs through each life. Biography Work is not supposed to be a therapy. When studying literature, biography and its relationship to literature is often a subject of literary criticism , and is treated in several different forms. Two scholarly approaches use biography as a tool for interpreting literature, literary biography and biographical criticism, and two genre s of fiction rely very heavily on the incorporation of biographical elements, biographical fiction and autobiographical fiction. Literary biography A literary biography is the exploration of the lives of writers and artists. Biographies about artists and writers are sometimes some of the most complicated forms of biography. ref name backschneider1113 Not only does the author of the biography have to write about the subject of the biography but also incorporate the relevance of individual works by the subject into the biography itself. ref name backschneider1113 ref name karl Karl, Frederick R. Backbeat Earl Palmer s Story is the biography of pioneer rock and roll drummer Earl Palmer . The book is by music journalist Tony Scherman with a foreword by Wynton Marsalis . More than half the text is directly quoted from Palmer, making the book as much an autobiography as it is a biography. The story begins with Palmer as a four year old vaudeville tap dancing tap dancer and continues with the story of New Orleans music and the emergence of a strong rock and roll drumming style featuring the beat music back beat . After his triumphs in the city, Palmer moved to Los Angeles , where he became one of the top session musician s and arrangers of the 1950s through the 1970s, playing on hundreds of hits, from La Bamba song La Bamba to Percy Faith and Frank Sinatra . The sections quoting Palmer are colorful, frank, and direct, giving the full flavor of his life as a musician. For example, speaking of playing on Little Richard s records Richard s music was exciting as a sumbitch. I m not talking about the quality of it. It wasn t quality music. It wasn t no chords. It was just blues. Slippin and Slidin sounded like Good Golly Miss Molly and they both sounded like Lucille . It was exciting because he was exciting. Richard is one of the few people I ve ever recorded with that was just as exciting to watch in the studio as he was in performance. The book includes an extensive discography and notes. About Tibetan spiritual biographies the Mesopotamian mythological deity Namtar god Tibetan Buddhism A namtar Standard Tibetan Tibetan namthar , Wylie rNam.thar is a spiritual biography or hagiography in Tibetan Buddhism . Namtar literally means complete liberation , since the texts tell the stories of yogis or Indo Tibetan Mahasiddha who attained complete enlightenment. Namtars do not focus on a literal chronology of events, but rather function as a kind of learning example that hits the high points of the sprititual life of a yogi. In her book, Women of Wisdom , Tsultrim Allione collected translations of the namtar of six Tibetan Buddhist yogini Namgsa Obum, Machig Lapdron , Jomo Memo, Machig Ongjo, Drenchen Rema and A Yu Khadro. According to Allione blockquote The sacred biography is called rNam.thar in Tibetan, which literally means complete liberation. The rNam.thar are specially geared to provide records for those on a spiritual quest, in much the same way that someone about to climb a high mountain would seek out the chronicles of those who had made the climb before. The sacred biographer is primarily concerned with providing information which will be helpful and inspirational for someone following in the footsteps of the spiritual adept or saint. Establishing a mythical ideal and the communication of the sacred teachings takes precedence over providing a narrative portrait or likeness of the subject as a personality. The personality is stressed only in so far as it relates to the spiritual process of the individual. ref cite book last Allione first Tsultrim title Women of Wisdom publisher Arkana location London date 1986 isbn 1 85063 044 5 page 56 ref blockquote References Reflist Buddhism topics Category Tibetan culture Category Tibetan Buddhist texts Category Vajrayana Tibet stub ... more details
