He buys the bed and sets it up in his daughter s room without knowing why. That evening, he finds that the bed is haunted by the girl, who asks him to find Toby for her. Returning to the orphanage the next day, he learns that the girl died of tuberculosis while sleeping in the bed, and that Toby is her teddy bear. After retrieving the teddy bear, the father steals his daughter from the hospital where she resides and places her in the bed she wakes up, but asks for Toby before her father can explain anything.
