    Lemuel Cushing April 29, 1806 &ndash May 18, 1875 was a businessman and pioneer in the Ottawa valley . He was born in Trois Rivi res , Lower Canada , the son of Job Cushing, who came to the Eastern Townships from the United States . Cushing moved to Montreal with his parents at the age of eight. In 1821, he moved to Vermont for a short time but returned to Brownsburg Chatham, Quebec Chatham Township in Lower Canada after a few months.     Thomas Naum James born 24 October 1925 in Amory, Mississippi died 11 September 2010 in Birmingham, Alabama was a leading United States American cardiologist during the last half of the twentieth century. He was chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and then president of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston . He is best known for his research in the anatomy of the coronary arteries and the electrical conduction system of the heart. He served as president of the American Heart Association , the International Society and Federation of Cardiology , and the Tenth World Congress of Cardiology . He retired in 2004, and returned to Birmingham, Alabama , where he died in 2010. His greatest influence, however, was upon his grandchildren, within whom he helped instill a drive toward achievement and excellence. His grandson, Thomas Fenner James, continues in his medical footsteps at Dr. James alma mater, Tulane University.     Lemuel Paynter 1788 August 1, 1863 was a Democratic Party United States Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania . Lemuel Paynter was born in Lewes, Delaware . He moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania , and served in the War of 1812 and became major and lieutenant colonel of the Ninety third Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia. He served as a member of the board of commissioners of the Southwark, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Southwark district for many years and also served as president of the board. He was a member of the guardians of the poor and also school director. He was elected a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate in 1833. Paynter was elected as a Democrat to the 25th United States Congress Twenty fifth and 26th United States Congress Twenty sixth Congresses.
