T theory is a branch of discrete mathematics dealing with analysis of tree graph theory tree s and discrete metric spaces . General history As per Andreas Dress , T theory originated from a question raised by Manfred Eigen , a recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry , in the late seventies. He was trying to fit twenty distinct transfer RNA t RNA molecule s of the Escherichia coli E. Coli bacterium into a tree. One of the most important concepts of T theory is the tight span of a metric space. If X is a metric space, the tight span T X of X is, up to isomorphism, the unique minimal injective metric space that contains X . John Isbell was the first to discover the tight span in 1964, which he called the injective envelope . Dress independently constructed the same construct, which he called the tight span. Application areas Phylogenetic analysis, which is used to create phylogenetic tree s. 1. Mismatch theory

Mismatch theory is a concept in evolutionary biology that refers to fluidity in fitness criteria. The essence of mismatch theory is that organisms possess traits including behavioral, emotional, and biological that have been passed down through generations, preserved by natural selection because of their adaption adaptive function in a given environment. However, the given environment of the evolutionary period can be quite unlike the current environment. Therefore, traits that were at one time adaptive in a certain environment, are now mismatched to the environment that the trait is currently present in. 1. Arboreal theory

Unreferenced date December 2009 Orphan date December 2009 This theory is proposed by Wood Jones 1916 . The arboreal theory claims that primate s evolved from their ancestors by adapting to arboreal life. Primates are thought to have developed several of their Trait biology traits and Habituation habits initially while living in trees. One key component to this argument is that primates relied on sight over Olfaction smell . They were able to develop a keen sense of depth perception , perhaps because of the constant leaping that was necessary to move about the trees. Primates also developed hand s and feet that were capable of grasping. This was also a result of arboreal life, which required a great deal of crawling along branches, and reaching out for fruit and other food. These early primates were likely to have diet nutrition eaten foods found in trees, such as flowers, fruits, berries, gums, leaves, and insects. They are thought to have shifted their diets towards insects in the early Cenozoic Cenozoic era , when insects became more numerous.
