  1. Vertical transmission

Vertical transmission , also known as mother to child transmission , is the transmission medicine transmission of an infection or other disease from mother to child immediately before and after birth during the perinatal period. A pathogen s transmissibility refers to its capacity for vertical transmission. The concept of vertical transmission is also used in population genetics to describe inheritance of an allele or condition from either the father or mother. Vertical transmission tends to evolve benign symbiosis . It is therefore a critical concept for evolutionary medicine . Because a pathogen s ability to pass from parent to child depends significantly on the hosts ability to reproduce, pathogens transmissibility tends to be inversely related with their virulence. Transmission telecommunications Transmission that combines a very high data signaling rate with very short transmission times i.e., the message is compressed. This is popular with the military and espionage spies , who both wish to minimize the chance of their radio transmissions being detected, i.e. Low probability of intercept LPI and Low probability of recognition LPR . Operation of a data computer network network in which data transmission is interrupted at intervals. 1. Transmission delay

In a computer network network based on packet switching , transmission delay or store and forward delay is the amount of time required to push all of the packet s bits into the wire. In other words, this is the delay caused by the data rate of the link. Transmission delay is a function of the packet s length and has nothing to do with the distance between the two nodes. This delay is proportional to the packet s length in bits, It is given by the following formula math D T N R math where math D T math is the transmission delay N is the number of bits, and R is the rate of transmission say in bits per second Most Packet Switching packet switched networks use store and forward transmission at the input of the link. A switch using store and forward transmission will receive save the entire packet to the buffer and check it for CRC errors or other problems before sending the first bit of the packet into the outbound link. Thus store and forward packet switches introduce a store and forward delay at the input to each link along the packet s route.
