The question of whether transpersonalpsychology should be considered one of a number of transpersonal disciplines appears to be answered affirmatively by Boucovolas. Boucovolas discusses how sociology, anthropology, business studies, law, art, acting and ecology may all gain benefits from a transpersonal focus. A 2005 edition of the Journal of TranspersonalPsychology has discussed transpersonal aspects of cinema, suggesting grounds for a merge between media studies and transpersonalpsychology. This journal includes a seminal paper by Gaylin 2005 , arguing that the media is almost inherently transpersonal insofar as it involves addressing a wider community, therefore helping people to transcend their individuality. Gaylin also discusses how aspects of films can be transpersonal. References reflist Boucovolas, M. 1999 . Orphan date February 2009 Transpersonal psychiatry may be considered an application of the teachings of transpersonalpsychology to medical matters. It is, therefore, closely allied to Psychotherapy therapy which adopts a transpersonal perspective, a topic which has been written about by Boorstein 1980 and for which John Rowan psychologist John Rowan has discussed different streams, such as the Jung ian, psychosynthetic and neurolinguistics neuro linguistic approaches. However, since psychiatrist s must have had medical training, transpersonal psychiatrists can be said to differ from transpersonal psychologists and psychotherapy psychotherapists by possession of a Doctor of Medicine medical degree . It still seems likely, however, that many questions which confront transpersonalpsychology in a clinical context will also be of interest to transpersonal psychiatrists. Unreferenced date December 2009 Orphan date December 2009 In astrology , the two transpersonal planets are Jupiter and Saturn because their orbits are of such a duration that they are too long to affect individuals and too short to affect entire generations. These planets serve as a link to a person s individual karma and his generational karma. Jupiter is the fifth and largest planet from the Sun , and is a gas giant. It makes one orbit around the Sun in approximately 12 years, and therefore stays in each sign of the zodiac for about a year, thereby instilling in persons born in a year certain areas that they find a great deal of. For example, if a person was born with Jupiter posited in Capricorn in the sixth house then he would very likely find a great deal of responsibility in his life in the area of work and duty. In some ways, Jupiter s placement can be considered a person s dharma , or the gift that he is given in this life. This gift, however, can sometimes come as a double edged sword because it can also come in excess. Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and is also a gas giant. It orbits the Sun in approximately 30 years and stays in each sign for about 2 years. Because Saturn governs the limits and restrictions in our lives, wherever Saturn is placed will give an indication of the responsibilities and lessons that a person is likely to face in his life. For example, if an individual is born with his natal Saturn posited in the sign of Aquarius, he will very likely have to learn to develop his friendships and social contacts in a positive fashion to help him to achieve his goals and succeed in life. Saturn can be considered to be a person s karma in this life, or lessons that he must learn to help him to progress to the next level of awareness.
