Use dmy dates date August 2010 Indigenous Peoples of Canada Treaty6 is an agreement between the Monarchy in Canada Canadian monarch and the Plain and Wood Cree Indians and other tribes of Indians at Fort Carlton , Fort Pitt Saskatchewan Fort Pitt and Battle River . The area agreed upon by the Plain and Wood Cree represents most of the central area of the current provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta . One Manitoba band also signed on to the treaty by adhesion in 1898. The treaty signings began in August 1876, with adhesions added in 1898 in central Saskatchewan in the Montreal Lake area. Reasons At this time, the American Bison buffalo , the staple of the people that lived on the plains, was disappearing at an alarming rate due to the settlement activities. Citation needed date September 2010 The Tribal chief chiefs realized that if they did not sign a treaty with the Crown, they might starve or have to attack more of the forts and settlements within the area. A second major reason for the signing of the treaty was that a smallpox epidemic had recently gone through the area, killing many of the Cree. Treaty of Erzurum refers to either of two treaties, in 1823 and 1847, that settled boundary disputes between the Ottoman Empire and Iran . First Treaty Although the Treaty of Zuhab in 1639 had established the boundary between Ottoman Empire and Iran, the border in the mountainous Zuhab region remained a site of intermittent conflict in the subsequent two centuries. Ottoman incursions in north west Iran in pursuit of rebel tribesmen made Persians to retaliated. this attack prompted Sultan Mahmud II in 1821 to declare war on Iran. Fath Ali Shah Qajar s army barely managed to defeat the superior Ottoman army. The first Treaty of Erzurum was signed in July 1823, but it essentially confirmed the 1639 border and thus failed to resolve the disputes that had led to conflict. Second Treaty A series of border incidents in the 1830s again brought Iran and the Ottoman Empire to the brink of war. Britain and Russia offered to mediate, and a second Treaty of Erzurum was signed on May 31, 1847. ref Victor Prescott and Gillian D. Triggs, International Frontiers and Boundaries Law, Politics and Geography Martinus Nijhoff Publishers, 2008 ISBN 9004167854 , p. 6. ref This treaty divided the disputed region between Iran and the Ottoman Empire and provided for a boundary commission to delimit the entire border. The Treaty Debates was a series of debates of the Second D il sitting in Dublin between the supporters and opponents of the Anglo Irish Treaty signed on 6 December 1921 between representatives of the Irish Republic and the coalition government of David Lloyd George Lloyd George . The Treaty had been negotiated by Irish envoys with plenipotentiary powers and required to be ratified by the D il and the British Palace of Westminster Houses of Parliament . The Treaty was approved on 7 January 1922 by a narrow margin of 64 to 57 see Anglo Irish Treaty D il vote . The debates ran from 14 December 1921 to 7 January 1922 but were not publicised until 1972, in all their aggression and rawness . They comprise a vital resource on the psychology of the Irish War of Independence and show the varying ideals that sustained the Sinn F in deputies. Definitions of their understanding of their mandate in 1918 and 1921, and of the Irish Republic Republic itself, are interspersed with the practicalities of devolving power from London to Dublin. The narrow division led to the outbreak of the Irish Civil War on 28 June 1922.
