They put on The Blue Bird by Maeterlinck in 1909, and Ibsen s The Pretenders in 1913, at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket . Afterwards, he spent time travelling. He died in Boulogne sur Mer . It bisects the Mid Atlantic Ridge just north of the equator at the narrowest part of the Atlantic between Brazil and West Africa, extending from 2 N to 2 S and from 16 W to 20 W. The trench has been formed by the actions of the Romanche Fracture Zone , a portion of which is an active transform boundary offsetting sections of the Mid Atlantic Ridge. It is situated between the Sierra Leone Basin to the north northeast, the South Atlantic Basin to the east southeast, the Northern Brazilian Basin to the south southwest, and North Atlantic Ridge to the west northwest. Geologically, it is at the seam of the South American Plate to the West and the African Plate to the East. The trench has a depth of 7,760 m, is 300 km long and has an average width of 19 km and allows for a major circulation of deep ocean basin water from the west Atlantic to the east Atlantic basins. The award was founded by Len Kuhn and Carl Kuras, and is run and sponsored by Lancaster Elks Lodge 1478 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks . The Award Players are graded on specific criteria by a group of knowledgeable scouts, known as the Committee. The Committee is composed of coaches, former coaches, and former players, who attend the games of more than 80 schools on a weekly basis. Every week 5 players are chosen as Nominees, who are then eligible for the final award. After the state championships are over, nominees are broken down to twelve finalists, and then one final winner. The Lineman of the Year receives a Scholarship college scholarship , among other accolades. The John Gebhardt Memorial Scholarship In August 2010, the Trench Trophy announced that their yearly college scholarship was named in honor of founding member and generous contributor John Gebhardt. The John Gebhardt Memorial Scholarship was decided by result of unanimous vote by the Committee. John was a dedicated supporter of the award since its inception. The name The name Trench Trophy was approved on August 18, 2003 , at the first meeting of the Trench Trophy Committee. It comes from the adage that lineman play in the trenches.
