  1. Rheological ammunition

Unreferenced date December 2009 Rheological ammunition uses a rheological substance that can be controlled by injecting a current or introducing a magnetic field to the projectile s core, thereby changing some properties of the projectile. The idea is to create a projectile with a core that can be hard or soft depending on adjustable settings on the weapon. Or development of special purpose ammunition. Possible scenarios and use The optimal goal is to create a projectile that can be electronically controlled and used in a wide range of situations. Mainly, military and law enforcements scenarios. A soldier can fire live and less lethal ammunitions from the same magazine by choosing weapon settings. A police officer may fire a Less lethal less lethal projectile and seconds later fire an armour piercing projectile. All from the same magazine loaded with identical rheological bullets . Scenario with Rheological small arms calibre ammunition A Rheological projectile bullet is supported by a magnetic sabot. The magnetic sabot controls the core properties. As long as the sabot remains in place the core is firm and support the jacket. The projectile will penetrate target without deformation. Below A projectile with a magnetic sabot is penetrating an armoured target. After the initial penetration A the magnetic sabot is discarded B and the projectile core is changing from hard to soft allowing deformation of the projectile C . After the deformation the projectile have similarity with hollow point ammunition both in deformation and wound ballistics. Applications range from entry ammunition allowing penetration of doors, armours etc. without risking over penetration and the safety of third party. 1. Ammunition boot

Ammunition boots , also known as Boots, General Service BGS , were the standard footwear for the British Army from the late 1880s until the late 1950s. They replaced the earlier lace up Blucher boots that had been in service since the early 1800s. The term Ammunition boots comes from the boots unusual source. They were procured by the Master Gunner and the Munitions Board at Royal Arsenal Woolwich the Regiment of Artillery s headquarters rather than Horse Guards building Horse Guards the headquarters of the British Army . They were usually produced at a factory on site, but civilian manufacturers were given contracts to produce them during times of increased demand. Ammunition boots were unlined ankle boot s with leather laces, pebble grained dimpled leather vamp front and quarters sides , smooth leather toe case toe cap and counter heel cap , iron heel plate and toe plate , and an iron studded leather Sole foot sole . They were designed to be hard wearing and long lasting rather than comfortable. The hobnail studded soles made a loud crunching sound when the wearer was marching, earning them the nickname crunchies . Soldiers were issued two pairs of boots, both made with a brown finish that had to be polished black. 1. Rotation of ammunition

refimprove date October 2010 Rotation of ammunition is a term used with reference to gun s. Projectile s intended for R.M.L. rifled muzzle loading gun rifled muzzle loading guns were at first fitted with a number of gunmetal gun metal studs arranged around them in a spiral manner corresponding to the twist of rifling . This was defective, as it allowed, as in the old smooth bore guns, the powder gas to escape by the clearance called windage between the projectile and the bore, with a consequent loss of efficiency it also quickly eroded the bore of the larger guns. Later the rotation was effected by a cupped copper disc called a gas check attached to the base end of the projectile. The powder gas pressure expanded the rim of the gas check into the rifling grooves and prevented the escape of gas it also firmly fixed the gas check to the projectile, thus causing it to rotate. A more regular and efficient action of the powder gas was thus ensured, with a corresponding greater range and an improvement in accuracy. With the earlier Armstrong R.B.L. or rifled breech loading guns rifled breech loading guns the projectiles were coated with lead the late Lord Armstrong s system , the lead being forced through the rifling grooves by the pressure of the exploded powder gas. The lead coating is, however, too soft with the higher velocities of modern B.L. guns. Vavasseur devised the plan of fitting by hydraulic pressure a copper driving band into a groove cut around the body of the projectile. This is now universal. It not only fulfills the purpose of rotating the projectile, but renders possible the use of large explosive charge charges of slow burning explosive . The copper band, on being forced through the gun, gives rise to considerable friction resistance , which allows the propelling charge to burn properly and thus to exert its enormous force on the projectile. CATs are morphology biology morphologically and physiologically distinct from germ tubes and are under separate genetic control. Germ tubes, produced during conidial germination, are different from CATs because CATs are thinner, shorter, lack branches, exhibit determinate growth, and home toward each other. CAT biology is not completely understood. Initially, conidia are induced to form CATs. Once they are formed, they grow homing toward each other, and eventually they fuse. Once fusion occurs, the respective nuclei can pass through the fused CATs from one conidium to the other. The endocardial heart tubes are paired regions in the embryo that appear in its ventral pole by the middle of the third week of gestation and consist of precursor cells for the development of the embryonic heart . The endocardial heart tubes derive from the Lateral plate mesoderm visceral mesoderm and initially are formed by a confluence of angioblast ic blood vessels on either side of the embryonic midline. The endocardial tubes have an intimate proximity to the foregut or pharyngeal endoderm . ref cite book title Cardiac development last Kirby first Margaret L. authorlink coauthors year 2007 publisher Oxford University Press location isbn 019517819X page 119 pages url http books.google.com books?id fjhCQ QbtbsC accessdate 20 April 2011 ref As folding of the embryo in the horizontal plane initiates in the 4th week of gestation, the endocardial tubes meet in the midline to form the primitive heart tube , which will eventually develop into the histologically definitive endocardium . The myocardium forms from mesoderm cells surrounding the heart tube, while the epicardium develops from other cells, most likely from neural crest cells.
