Design and development Utilising the wings, struts and tail unit of the T.8 Kirby Tutor, the T.29 Motor Tutor had a new fuselage incorporating a wheeled undercarriage and the cockpit under the wing centre section. Early trials revealed resonance of the front wing struts, which was rectified by adding a vertical bracing strut vertically up to the mainspar. This modification was introduced for all Kirby Tutors to allow aero tow launching. Development Two versions of the T.29 Motor Tutor were produced, T.29A with a 25h.p. Scott Flying Squirrel engine and the T.29B with a 40 h.p. Aeronca E 113 Aeronca JAP J.99 . Both of these versions flew successfully but considerable difficulty was had certificating the aircraft with the Air Registration Board , which precluded production. The T.29A was exported and the T.29B crashed at Dunstable in 1964. In 1972 an additional T.29B was built by R.G. Boyton at Epsom in Surrey. History The T.8 Kirby Tutor was immediately popular but only seven complete aircraft were sold before the outbreak of World War II , as well as kits of parts, spares and sets of wings for retrofit to T.7 Kirby Kadets . The T.8 Tutor was also produced for use by the Air Training Corps, being re named Slingsby T.8 Cadet TX Mk.2 . Sixty two Cadet TX Mk.2s were ordered from 1944 with simple windscreens and landing wheels. other persons John Jennings John Jennings c.1687 1723 was an English Nonconformism Nonconformist minister and tutor of an early dissenting academy at Kibworth , Leicestershire , the original institution that became Daventry Academy . Jennings through his teaching and pedagogic writings was a major influence on the English Dissenters Dissenting educational tradition. Life His father John Jennings 1634 1701 , a native of Oswestry , Shropshire , was educated at Christ Church, Oxford and was ejected from the rectory of Hartley Wespall , Hampshire after the Act of Uniformity 1662 . The elder John Jennings was afterwards a private chaplain at Langton, near Kibworth, and founder of the independent congregation at Kibworth, where he purchased a small estate. A younger son, David Jennings tutor David Jennings , became known as tutor of the Coward Trust academy in Wellclose Square . John Jennings was educated at Timothy Jollie s academy at Attercliffe , ref ODNB article by David L. Wykes. ref and succeeded his father as independent minister at Kibworth, where from 1715 he conducted a nonconformist academy.
